Anyone know if 1. Leather seals are still available to buy or 2, what the hell one uses as an alternative? Got one missing, deteriorated and broken in a Petter M crankcase. Blue

The Lister type leather seals are still produced and sold from India... We have them for Lister S and H series. You can always spec a rubber lip-seal in their place but we prefer to stay with the original design because the newer rubber seals tend to wear the rotating parts quite a bit more than the leather type and eventually become oil leakers as a result.

That sounds like my only hope. Do you know what size they are offhand? I am going to use an o ring if no other option presents itself.

I can measure the leather ones I stock here... If going with a modern rubber lip seal, all you need is i.d. shaft diameter, o.d. housing bore, and housing depth measurements.
