Help needed ST3 SOM Brush 10.5 kva
« on: January 19, 2016, 12:15:39 PM »
Hi everyone what a super forum for information. I have been trawling through some of the posts on here. And its a wealth of knowledge. I think I've got the bug.
I have just bought a ST3 SOM with a 10.5 kva head made by Brush. There are a couple of bits missing which I have ordered from the internet, however the high/low battery switch has been removed and the wires cut in the box on top of the generator. there are 3 wires one thick wire labelled (5) and two black wires one coming from the fuse and one coming out of the genny with the thick wire. I don't know what type of switch was originally fitted i.e. rotary or a toggle and I don't have a connection diagram. Can you guys help me out.
Also would I be correct in thinking that this set requires 24 volts to start as someone told me they can be 12v or 24v.
As I'm a newbie I am struggling to add some pictures but the plant nos. are engine 130ST326 and the generator is 130 STI 26 V S0  its single phase 240v.

I have a brush manual I was running a brush till about 900 hrs ago when it died. The motor just started working real hard and just about died it was a good thing I was close by instead of lounging on the couch. Not being too electrically minded it was easier to switch it out to the spare st 5 I had waiting. The brush was a much smoother gen and it was 7 kva and would start motors and stuf real good. The st works. If you want I could copy the manual and email to u.

If that does not work out well... let me know and I will look into our SOM technical library for that model.
