Lister CS Timeline and Changes
« on: September 29, 2015, 01:36:15 AM »
So Lister made the CS engines for something like 50 years? I can't seem to find anywhere if there is a timeline of upgrades/changes made to them over the years. Or did they stay pretty much the same?
Thanks
Jake

You need to get the book titled The Lister CS Story by David Edgington, Several sources in GB for it. Not every change is detailed but all of the important ones are.  The factory records for the late engines, post about 1955 or so were all destroyed in a fire so you will be able to find out little about the engine you purchased. For the earlier ones David can tell you when it was shipped and to whom and if it was ever back to the factory for updates.

The Edgington book is excellent and I think it seems to be pretty thorough. We keep copies in our stocks as well, but it is easy to order from England.
There were quite a number of major and minor changes and refinements added over the years - especially in earlier versions where they were still working out some issues.

No worries... we don't make our money on the hobby aspects of this business, mostly on service and on the newer Lister equipment.
