went fishing and look what took my bait
« on: August 26, 2015, 11:04:50 PM »
Hanging from my fishing line is  a purdy nice ole 6/1  ;D

Actually hanging from a chain on my skid steer after unloading it is a customer owned 6/1 Lister dating from 1939.  Originally sold in Montreal Canada and so nicely preserved I wanted to share it as  I don't get to work on such nice stuff very often.  I will hate to see this one leave when finished  :-\ :-\

A good fisherman never gives out info about his best holes or baits,,, ;)

We did put the buyer in contact with seller but now we are just the chosen servicing shop.  After a few Indian engines and beat up Amish owned clunkers it is refreshing to go through  a nicely preserved one,  especially one of that vintage and over all quality.

Man, I hate it when I get drool all over the keyboard.....please take me fishing with you next time. I'll bring the beer.

One of these days, one of these days.......................................I'm going to win the lottery and bring an entire container of Lister 6/1's and Petters over here from England. Rust and age are my friends.

You're right! A cruise! Yeah, sure! I wasn't planning very well.....I'll hire an entire FREIGHTER and fill it up with single cylinder diesels! Keep what I need for my own use and give the remaining 500 or so to the members here! The wife doesn't REALLY need that new house so soon.........

I have to go down and buy a ticket this morning.... ;D

I think the Brits might become worried that there will be nothing left for them!

Might end up looking something similar to how the Amish tend to protect their own control of this equipment in the US. I have already heard some of the lamentations of how the Yanks have driven up the prices...  ;D

When you sent me that pic Butch I couldn't believe the condition of that engine as well. I hope it's as good inside as it looks on the outside.
