Lister D Lacquer!
« on: May 17, 2015, 01:15:11 PM »
Hello all,
We are in the process of restoring a 1952 Lister D and we have come to putting the Stickers/Decals onto the engine, but we are not to sure if we should spray the engine in clear lacquer? Any Suggestions?

Many Thanks,
Josh

If you have vinyl stickers, then everything will be fine without any top covering. If you have the water transfer decals, then a clear coating of some sort is in order. The decals will not stand up to water, oil, or fuel without some protective coating. Your engine will require routine cleaning even if it has no leaks, and the engine room environment is almost always going to have contaminants about.
