Lister TS3 crankshaft oil way blanking plug
« on: January 22, 2015, 12:02:43 AM »
Hi All
Just been working on a TS3 Lister Crankshaft, it had what looked like a pop rivet half out ( or half in) for the oil gallery plug, I thought that's not right, so I tried to move it (with my fingers) and was it loose, the crank is still in the engine, but I have no idea what type they use, are they screw in plugs or blanks knocked in and where do I get them, any ideas?

Several variations exist depending on age... We can most likely help. gary@dieselgen.com

Hi Diesel
thanks for that, but I found the pop rivet was the normal thing Lister  used, which seems a  bit odd , fixed it with a tapered steel plug

Threaded tapered plug is much better for something of that importance... some used a pressed-in plug as well.
