I originally utilized the stock 5" single belt water pump pulley on my Listeroid to drive an oil pump.
I now want to use this pulley to drive a 24 volt alternator at 50 amps load (or 1200 watts... or 1.2kw....or 1.6HP)
My concern is that this pulley is attached to the crankshaft by two 3/8" set screws (no keyway or flat spot on the shaft)
The set screws were adequate for driving the 1/8 HP needed by the oil pump, but the demand from this new alternator can reach 1.6HP .
I am wondering if anyone has experience driving anything like this with their Listeroid auxiliary pulley ?
Can two set screws adequately take the 1.6HP load/torque ?
Not a great picture, but the one below illustrates the location and current use for this pulley...
thanks
