Dating a CS

Have recently discovered a CS 6/1 and have spirited it to greener pastures at the request of the previous owner who did not want it to end up as 'scrap metal in China'. The plate on the side is in good condition and easily readable. No. CS71480   Spec. 5/1/35. HP 6. RPM 650. Any way of finding out when it was made from that info ? It is presently undergoing 'treatment' as the intake manifold had been left uncovered and facing the heavens for MANY years.

Just managed to save a HR2 with a 400 amp welder fitted to a trailer as well. Also been collecting water in one cylinder (at least) but I have disconnected the manifold so it can't collect any more while I try to find a home for it.

You must try everything at least once before deriding it. Not sure I will try it again tho'; bit too demanding!
