CAV Injection Pump Date Codes

We have a listing on our websites for the dating of CAV injection and other equipment:

To expand the accuracy of the listing, we need more dates from engines so that we can verify the accuracy of what is in the tables.

Could we ask all Lister engine owners to check their engine pump date code and email me with the engine type, serial number and date code please?

The code is two-characters, both letters, and is usually at the bottom of the label, but it does vary. In all cases the two characters are separate from the main type numbers.

I went out to have a quick look this morning but it was hard to read the tags due to age (mine and the engines) , man those are stamped very fine. I will have a go in better light with my reading glasses on, a rag with solvent etc.

I've had three date codes from Contaucreek for both CAV and Bryce equipment:

CS43195 spec 10/2/30 1941? 10/2
 CAV LH  - Pump dates to October 1941


 372 16/2/31 1981 16/2
 Bryce TY - Pump dates to June 1981

 495661R7 1957 6/1
 CAV FY  - Pump dates to May 1957

I checked the 1ZHR today, and that has date code VA, which we make to be August 1959, against a selling date in 1964, so presumably the pump or engine was in stock for a while.

The 1YB has a Ruston labelled pump with no date code on it.

I been meaning to get some codes from my engines for him but cant remember to write them down  Afer all I do have to remember to beathe, and walk without falling down,,,,,
