So there's no worries about a broken crank or camshaft on this twin!  What are the major differences between the L and the CS series?

Very interesting that your Indian tappets were true and had decent finish.  Don't think I've ever heard of that before!
Thanks for letting us look over your shoulder a bit on this very interesting project!

I think we generally hear a great deal about the failures and misses, less so about when things are good. Our experience with the clones, in quantity and over many years time, is that while all the failures are certainly there and can be real disappointments, overall this equipment is a pretty good value. Most of the time the problems are small, much of this stuff is of adequate quality for what it was designed.

Hello agin,
Got a few hours on the TL over the weekend. Had success with the pre-start oiling plugs. A bit of heat and they are out.  There is also one not in the picture over the governor.

CS clone here, what is a "pre-start oiling plug" ?  Is that like the plug over the far cam bushing ? (I've still got to weld a oil collector drip wire onto mine)

The lifers are CS exhaust. The only difference from OEM is the adjusting bolt threads are BSW on the TL and BSF on the CS type.

I would have thought it would of been the other way round, because the BSF thread form would make for easier and finer valve adjustment on the TL engine.
