is that a dynamo direct coupled on an adapter plate?

what's in the gap between the plate and flywheel?

Original Lister D, megasquirt multifuel project, compressor and truck alternator.
Current status - project / standby, Fuel, good old pump diesel.

Hi Guy,
There's an adapter with a fan on it that attaches the PM core to the flywheel... The stator and back of the housing are stationary...
