Hello everyone, I have A  no. 40 03046 AC1co53 6.5 h.p. @ 3600, I would like too know if I can slow this thing down to 2500 with the external governor adjustment or will I have to change the spring inside and retime the pump. It will be used to drive A 2.5 kw gen head,so governor action needs to be good. Thanks

Did you plan on using a belt drive? Those are usually run at 3600 and directly coupled to a 2-pole head in North America for 60Hz. Different governor spring/weight combinations are available if you needed variable speed.

Yes, I will use belt drive too turn head at 3600, I would like to slow engine down for longevity reasons, and noise. I do not need 6.5 h.p. either
