C S 3/1 Timing gears.
« on: October 05, 2011, 11:53:33 PM »
Hi, Newlister here. Having removed the inspection plate to investigate, rattly tap. Can see and feel the idler gear wobbles and has lots of backlash. Question. Where and who in England, can supply parts. to make good. Have seen bits and pictures, about an eccentric idler gear shaft. do they do them over here. ? Ta, Newlister.

You probably won't need the offset idler bolt as you are blessed to be in possession of the real deal. The Indian clones have the hole in the wrong spot.

Hi, Chaps, Thanks for your replies. Has only the idler gear. but it's better than nothing. would have liked the full set. ? how many, 3 off. Tried to register with the people at York, but gave up in the end. soon loose interest, when keep trying to type numbers and screw whiff letters in,  and not getting it right,  Teed e uss.  Left the water jacket filled with water overnight  used two rubber hoses being level above the head. and it seemed to have gone down about half a finger length. and no outside signs of a drip/ leak. but when I get time and energy,I'll pump up with little air. been setting a lpg regulator up to use on lpg. on a small generater, so will try this tomorrow would like to try some in the Lister at some point. Cheers Newlister.
