It would have been nice if the link had been posted before the auction so others knew about it.
Yes, it would have meant that folks would have had to compete.
It would have also meant that we could have worked together and had someone there to bid on our behalf and we might have ended up having a chance at some of the stuff.
Lots of cool stuff there.

Almost weekly people post of their finds and purchases on here, do you feel the same about them as me? that they should have made sure you had a shot before they purchased? Or is an auction differant than answering a want ad or purchasing an engine from a neighbor? Sorry but I really have no understanding,, absolutely none, for your appearant attitude that I have wronged everyone here who had not one clue that the engines were sold and still would not today if I had not posted about it.
I have amassed a large database of sites that I search from daily to weekly. I have contacts that call and let me know when things are for sale because I PAY them for their efforts, one way or another. Largely because of these efforts, just in the last 6 months or so I know of at least 10 slow speed Lister diesels that have come up for sale and sold, maybe 4-5 Rustin's, at least 4 upright Bamfords. It takes a lot of time and effort AND MONEY to keep up with it,,,,, but whatever, the point here being the knowledge of the auction didn't come for free. I freely admit however that even if an engine were to fall in my lap while asleep on the glider I would in the blink of an eye make the purchase without making sure it is OK with the engine community at large
If all that makes me something less than I should be I guess I am I am guilty as charged.
