2.5hp Lister Junior
« on: January 14, 2011, 11:13:45 PM »
Hi all

been a while since my last post however I have come across a fully restored Lister Junior and have a few queries. The casting number is A344, it is spec A16, 2.5hp and # 66006. I am guessing from the # it is a 1925 or 1926 build. I have borrowed and handle to start it but wondering a) can I buy a crank handle and b) does anyone have a pdf of an owners manual for it? Also are these rare or easy to come by? I am in Australia. Some general info would be great.

See it running here:

What you have there is a lister A type, and its the later twin flywheel version.

A starting handle should be easy enough to find as the starting handle fits on on a 1.1/2" diameter shaft. Which makes life easier, as this is the same size as a host of later Lister and Petter engines use.

If you cannot source one locally, then Stationary Engine Parts in the UK is the next best option, provided you dont mind the fact that this item is not OEM, but is a good copy all the same.
