Just an itsy bitsy one... I tried to convince my wife to help me load it up in the back of the pickup but she would have nothing to do with it. Muttering all the while about no back yard and hostile neighbours. I have no idea what she is talking about! Just a little something for backup in case the power goes out?? First a pic of my backyard (had to dig to find one)  All I need to do is convince my wife this thing will fit nicely in my back yard.... Cylinder heads...    Fairbanks morse light plant that was driving a mine in the Kootenays.... Figured I would post pics for giggles. Similar one that actually runs... Oh come on! You actually asked your wife if you could bring it home? You've got to learn not to ask first, just sneak it in after dark and then claim she told you it was OK several months ago  I'd figure out a way to get that in the corolla trunk and get it home  Where is it, Silverton? Stan |

Saw one very similar to this only 3 cylinders in Jerome, AZ.
He wanted $10 to start it up..... Air start, it was worth every penny.
Something I will never forget.

Close! Keep going past the old Vancouver municipal trolly busses... Call me paranoid, but It was a highlight when I saw it sitting there when I was a kid. I was happy as a clam to show it to my kids (although the little rotters look downright miserable in the one pic). I hope their kids will be just as thrilled to see it sitting in the bush... |

Got to ask what keeps that old engine from being busted up for scrap iron?
Is it protected somehow? Or is it just that remote?
Seems after all the years it looks to have sat unused that it is mostly there.

Nothing protecting it that I know of. One can not drive right up beside it but it's not that far from the nearest road. If your just crusing around you won't see it from the road. My reluctance to disclose exact location, I hope, will keep the scavangers from picking it apart at least further than what it already has been (they got the copper windings) From what I can see, the motor is complete. Because it's out in the weather I would guess everything is rusted solid (water in the oil galleries between the cylinders) |

That 20 kW job costs about $8500 USD. I'm gonna pass for now. So.......I'd love to find a high pole count pancake alternator like that only smaller. |

There has got to some reason LISTEROIDs are rated 600, 850 and 1000 RPM?  |
