Hi gents, have carried out strip down as you advised nothing to frightening too report.Liner/sleeve seems in remarkable condition it does not even have a lip at the top in the unswept area, there are however three tiny pits one of which is just inside swept area in region of top compression ring [see photo].piston crown does have some significant pitting evident i had thoughts of using some wet or dry in conjuction with a surface plate and gently blending out.None of the rings were sticking. There is no air filter on this engine could this be a factor as to the piston crown pitts down too debris ingress.Big end, small end and main bearings no play/movement evident other than about 1.0mm endfloat on crank can be felt when you push pull on a flywheel is this servicable if not is it a matter of replacing thrust washers? Have taken some pics experiencing difficultys attaching them at the moment. Is it advisable to roughen up/hone the bore prior to fitment of new rings[chromed liner]?
