Engine and Gearbox oil change
« on: August 10, 2009, 12:06:36 PM »
Hi

I have a Lister SR2 engine  with a LH150 gearbox attached to it, and need to change the oil for them both. Having searched the internet and my operating instructions, I still have no idea how to change the oil for either, although I have read that I may need to pump the oil out of the dipstick pipe. I haven't found the dipsticks for the gearbox yet, although I am yet to do a thorough investigation of it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

James

Logic would suggest that drain plugs would be fitted for ease of maintenance and would be easy to find on the lowest position on the sumps. I can't imagine Lister making oil changes a difficult job !!
DON'T STEAL , THE GOVERNMENT DOESN'T LIKE COMPETITION !!!
Lister A
Onan W3S Genny
Petter A1
Villiers C45 industrial
Continental flat six powerpacket
ANOTHER Lister 6/1 CS SOM , temporarily !!!

Thanks for the advice - I'll have a feel around for oil plugs,
