st gen head sk bushing
« on: April 08, 2006, 04:36:38 PM »
Hi, looking for a little info.  I have a st 10kw head with the 42mm shaft, I bought a pulley from mike@ gm listers and bought a tapered sk bushing.  I put the pulley on the shaft then the bushing and then the key.  Are the bolts that mount the bushing to the pulley going to draw the bushing flush with the pulley? Or is a 1/4" gap between the pulley and the bushing ok?  I have the pulley towards the back of the shaft.  Any help would be great, this is new to me. Thanks Matt

Matt--

There will be a gap after tightning.  Pull all the bolts up equally by alternating from side to side like tightning head bolts.   After ten hours or so of use re-check the torque of them all.

It's the best system going for attaching things to  shaft.
