« on: December 05, 2008, 06:12:24 PM »
Hi All,
Does anyone have a clear picture of the camshaft gear meshed into the idler gear on the timing marks ? If yes could you post it on here please.

  Thanks Steve

lendusaquid, thanks for that, unfortunately i need a genuine lister pic as the marks on the idler are different. My idler has 2 dots on the top of 2 of the teeth. I need too know which cam tooth goes between those marks. All in an effort to avoid dismantling again to adjust cam timing at a later stage.
Having said that if your crank is at Bdc for this cam position that may be enough info for me, i will take a better look tomorrow, thanks again.

It is an original Lister.Just a very early one. There should be a mark like mine on the cam gear that goes between those dots.Yes its at bottom dead centre.

My apologies,   :-[    For some reason when i looked closely at my cam it has a faint line between 2 teeth and a fainter zero between the next 2 teeth in a clockwise direction. Seeing your pic it looks like my line is the one to go with. But it does leave me wondering what the zero mark is for if that is the case.
  Cheers steve.

Sorry i don't do camera's, at the moment i have put paint marks on all the faint marks to help my aging eyesight during the rebuild. This rebuild is a mixture of Chinese and original parts where i could afford. This Cs is going to be working and not doing the rally route so originality is not required.
