I'ma new member and a new CS Lister owner.
« on: July 15, 2008, 10:00:12 AM »
Hi all fellow crankers,
It's Geoff here from Queensland Australia, I have been trying to join this forum for almost a week now, but today I got my approval so here I am. :)
Just recently I scored a CS don't know if it goes or not need to find out what things to do before attempting to start it. The only thing that's missing
is the air filter, spins freely and has compression. Dating it seems a mystery, Peter in the UK said it is a relitively rare 1946 model.
ID plate reads as follows: No. CS54860 SPEC: 208/13  HP 3 RPM 600. If any pictures help I will post some.
Anyone shed some some light on my new baby?

Regards
Geoff

G'day Geoff,
Whereabouts in sunny QLD are you? I'm near Toowoomba. There are  vintage engine rallies in a lot of areas at some point during the year (assuming you're not too remote). Someone at one of these could point you in the right direction. "The Old Machinery Magazine" http://www.tomm.com.au/ will tell you when & where.

Cheers,

brian

Hi Brian,

Just down the hill a little, Ipswich. Not so sunny at the moment it's raining here but hey we'll take all we can get.

Cheers

Welcome Geoff!  What a great thing the internet is.  Now a member joins us from down unda.  Yes, 3/1's are scarce.  Ought to last even longer I'd think than the 6/1's though.
