Anyone have a spare offset idler bolt?
« on: May 17, 2009, 12:29:12 AM »
Please help!  Dave is out of stock of his offset idler bolts and 2" hollow dippers.  He does not know when the next production run will start because he only has one or two orders right now.  My engine has so much play in the cam gears that I am reluctant to even run the  engine after all the work I have put into it so far.  If anyone has a spare offset bolt or 2" dipper I would like to purchase it ASAP.  Thanks, Mike H.

Normally, I wouldn't offer up my precious spare engine parts, but since you're a fellow piper pilot, I'll make an exception :-)

I *think* I have a spare offset bolt - pretty sure I ordered one for each of my engines and have only installed one to date.
Just have to find it now....
How about a flight up to Sand Springs, OK and I can hand it over in person?

drop me a direct email at cschuerm(at)cox.net

Chris, thanks for offering me one of your bolts.  You are the man!

Now if somebody only has a 2" dipper they are not using......... With some help I may get my engine up and making power before hurricane season after all. ;)

Source for cam offset idler bolts?

I keep hearing about these units on different engine forums - are they a custom made part ?

How do I order a unit/s to try in my JKSon CS10/1?

Cheers

Thanks RAB. I previously did a search and sent an email to the email address shown for xyger in the forum notes and transscript but
I have not received a reply. Hence the question - thinking maybe the contact had been updated elsewhere.

I would never have found the search facility without you - forever in your debt.

Happy Listeroiding.

Last I heard XYZer had no more in stock nor any plans to produce more, I believe he thinks the market is saturated.

I was lucky and got one of the last he had in stock.

However, I know of a number of folks out there that could surely use one, maybe if we beg and plead, Dave will produce some more!!??

Or, perhaps another talented machinist could step up to the plate and knock out a bunch of these!

Thanks Murph - an answer I was looking for.

I'll see if I can "clone" one...any pics of one of Daves units?
