Well lemme see...

Whoever it was got banned, correct? And I'm assuming he's not on here or allowed to post anymore

So ---

Current thread started at April 06, 2008, 12:35:52 AM EST so this all happened before that, April 4th or 5th

from the forum stats "top ten posters" page

mb posted in the current thread - obviously it's not him   ;D
gf's last post was at April 07, 2008 05:57:25 AM - it's not him  :D
rbodell posted in the current thread - not him either ;)
Doug we can view as not under suspicion, right?  ;D ;D
rcavictim's last post was at April 06, 2008, 11:32:06 PM - not him either :)
hotater wasn't around for awhile, he'd be above suspicion anyway :)
stan's last post was at March 28, 2008, 10:34:31 PM, that was awhile ago, we'll rule him out too, right? 8)
jens last post was at April 05, 2008, 12:02:16 PM, hmmm, hey jens, are you still there? :D :D
okizeke wasn't around since March 26, 2008, 07:09:24 PM, that was a while back too - can't be him :)

and mkdutchman is still here so it wasn't him either ;D ;D ;D

and last but not least, I saw that LowGear expressed his appreciation to Andrew for "saving me from my big mouth" so I'm betting that LG happened to be the desired apologee. So what can you tell us, LG?    (If I'm nosy just say so) ;)

I'm gonna guess it had something to do with the April Fools thread...

I agree with Mac, I am sure this is the thread that started it all and if you read it you will probably come up with the same name i did.

All the regulars are still posting, apart from a couple who are irregular anyway. Even GF is on the forum today, so it isn't him.

Apart from the April Fools joke itself, I think a little oversensitivity was in play after the DeLorean and Titanic comment, but we should all be big enough to take a joke, especially on such a close-knit forum as this.

I know plenty of Irish folk (from both sides of the border) who are generally very good company and can take a BIG leg-pull and still laugh afterwards.

Taking it to a threat against admin was never going to be on.

Geez......I go out of town for a few days  (delivering a genuine Lister to a friend in Oregon) and look what I missed.

As for whodunnit, I am reminded of one of the best lines delivered in Casablanca  by Bogart in answer to Peter Lorre's,

 "You despise me, don't you?"

Bogart replies ," If I took time to think about it, I probably would."      dp

I'm confused, did something get deleted from the April fools thread?  Surely no one is threatening people over that.   Its not like someone brought up rubber vs concrete mounting or anything.  ???

Still here

A boss I was asking in a loud voice about some damage asked me to stop yelling at him.
I said I cant hear you so I am yelling...

Then he said put on your seat belt and I laughed and said ya sure as I drove away....

He was offended and thought I was mocking him in front of a bunch of guys. He chased me down a little way and told me to wear my seat belt and do as I am told.....

I told him I did put on my seat belt  ( and its true ) and I gave him a hug and said its all better now no hard feelings ( in front of another bunch of guys ).

You almost never need to threaton people and raise your voice in anger. In my case it doesn;t work to motivate me.

I also took his safety book out of his shirt poket opened it up and punched hole in it with my hole punch. The I put it in his pocket and told him his safety points had been validated.

I'm probably going to get in trouble again, what do you think?

I'm a mod on another board.  Threatening mods and admins is just dumb.  But then y'all knew that.

In any case, it was a silly thing to get thin-skinned about...

It always surprises me that people who are nice folks in person, have lives, families, productive careers, etc sometimes turn into giant flaming rectal orifices in a forum like this one.

ok.. i got a threatening letter from a "member" because he wanted a public apology from another "member" and if he didnt get it threatened me and threatened to drag me to court.... my answer is banning him... i dont care who is right or wrong.. new rule.. no threatening the admin. if you cant handle the heat of public discussion go elsewhere.

Sheesh, seems to me that demanding an authority figure force someone else to apologize is kinda' 3rd grade.  Somebody has some growing up to do, but I fear it's probably too late.
