I have a friend that has a glass engine used for class room demonstration/it is designed to run for just a few seconds at a time and you can see the complete 4 cycle process/ it is a little unusual but I have seen 3 or 4 over the years/ sid

Wonder what happened at the end of the exhaust stroke? No valve overlap and the piston just reappears at the top of the bore. Maybe the camera self-destructed.

Did you see the June 07 popular science magazine "Six Strokes of Genius" where Bruce Crower has "invented" a six stroke engine which squirts water into the cylinder just as the engine finishes its fourth stroke, which turns to steam and drives the piston back down for a power stroke on the 5th stroke?
