Off topic ok!!!!!

I sent an email a while back to a fellwo in the USA who was loosing his job.
We ranted back and fourth about the stupidity of our jobs and employers...
I goof on the email and some guy I never heard of living in central America replies " I don;t know who you were intending to email, but I know exactly what you mean I was a stope leader on 1950 level of "X" mine where you are talking about..... "

I send an email to this guy in Finland asking some technical questions and I said if you have trouble with your english reply no problem.
My chum Pekka is a Fin and can translate....
He says Pekka? from south west blah blah, is he about 70 years old ?

I can't wait to see how this plays out. We could be living in a very small world.

 I've always held the firm belief that it's just as easy for a merchant to PISS off his customers and potential customers with offensive, stupid, aggravating, and ignorant advertizing.  This one has done it for me!

About 20 years ago when I first moved to the Twin Falls area of Idaho a local car dealer had one of the 'jump up and down and holler in your face and act an idiot' advertizing guy on TV.   I was introduced to him once in a resturant.  I made a comment about 'oh yeah!  the best salesman in the Magic Valley!'  He just beamed.    Then I told him it was my sincere belief he'd sold more remote control TVs than anyone else in Idaho.  He corrected me and said he was a car salesman.  I told him he sold me a new TV so I'd have a mute button....and he had NO chance of every selling me a car, or even getting me to consider going on their lot.
He quit smiling when a bunch of people agreed with me.

Funny thing is, if someone asks me where they can get a Lister Generator, this company will be first to come to mind. Irritating spammer or advertising genius??? But I do agree that his listing should be in Market Place.

Me?  When we had a telly I used to turn off while the adverts were on.  Just ignored them and couldn't really recall them.  Takes a while to get the habit of being cynical about advertising but when you have you realise they are only after your money, and are prepared to pay a lot of dosh for air-time 'cos they know it works with a lot of the watchers.  It doesn't work for me.  When the cold callers called I just said 'Don't call me.  I might call you, if and when I want something'.

They aren't first in my mind and I would never reccomend someone buy from anybody I don't know.

I've been without TV for many years and have gotten in the last three or four years to the point I listen to the radio until a commercial and then it's cut off.....sometimes not be turned back on that day.

It seems obvious to me that whoever this current spamming dealer is, he's NOT coming here for feed-back...only sales.  That means I wouldn't deal with him if he was my neighbor and offered everything wholesale.

Re:  Parts prices.  In most mechanical gizmos with LIMITED parts availability three times cost is normal retail.   Aftermarket parts suppliers are cut-throat and much cheaper.

Has anyone noticed the red lay-out dye on the ends of the crankshafts?  That means the engine has NOT been apart for inspection or cleaning.

Those single cylinders pictured on the linked website are the ones in the "how to start a lister" video link that was posted a few weeks ago.  The engine has rubber mounts between it and the frame and dances all over the place.  Wonder how long those are going to last with the torque pulses under a generator load?

2 and 2 could equal 5, especially if the average of 1 and 2  equals 2 (which it does, of course ).
