Felt filter for a CS 3.5hp
« on: April 21, 2007, 10:07:52 AM »
I have a felt filter in my 3.5hp CS and was wondering where I can purchase a new felt due to the one I have is very dirty and I don't think I'll be able to clean it, I did see somewhere that someone was using a paper filter probable form a car filter but can't remember where I had seen it.. also where can I get a new gasket from, regards

I'll try again....the server is buggering me up today  :P

I used a Fram C11860PL filter in the original 6/1 housing with the felt "snake" removed.  Keep the nipple the snake was attached to in place.  Glue (using Seal All) a wooden dowel 7/8" X 5/16" to the black rubber ring on the bottom of the filter, paint the dowel with the seal all to seal it.

I'll try posting this one

btw the felt snake is still available from http://www.stationaryengineparts.com/  if you want it.
