Faryman 4 or so HP hopper cooled diesel
« on: January 03, 2007, 12:38:18 AM »
The Father-inlaw has the remains of five engines and has put the 1st of 2 or 3 together. It's a hand crank on the cam like a Petter. One large flywheel like a Petter too.
A few whirls, a putt and a snort and away she went. Runs smooth at 1200rpm. ( strobed the three spoke flywheel to the flourescent shop lights) A little bit of vibration when wound up to 1500rpm or so.
Three of the engines even have a ring gear on the flywheel. The cam driven injection pump looks similar to what's used on most of the small diesels of that era.
The push rods operate inside an enclosed tube.
