If I was closer to the Soo I'd grab it, but I'm not so maybe someone else closer can snap it up.

If you notice the auction photo of the nameplate the engine is 3.5 hp @ 1800 RPM.  That means the plant cannot make more than about 1800 watts continuous.  No way it can be a 3 kW genset based on the nameplate horsepower.  The seller answered some questions I sent.  The whole thing apparently weighs only 200-300 lbs.  This is a really small machine and $1K is a lot of dough for what is obviously a well used machine.  I think I`d be better off spending that kind of money on a new 10 HP+ Changfa engine and new 5+ kW ST head.
-DIY 1.5L NA VW diesel genset - 9 kW 3-phase. Co-gen, dualĀ  fuel
- 1966, Petter PJ-1, 5 kW air cooled diesel standby lighting plant
-DIY JD175A, minimum fuel research genset.
-Changfa 1115
-6 HP Launtop air cooled diesel
-Want Lister 6/1
-Large DIY VAWT nearing completion

2.3KW max and that would be with a tail wind with 3.5HP. About 19 amp at 120V.
