I aslo purchased a 20/2 from GTC. I ordered with Chris (Cujet) and Bob (Rocketboy) in mid October 2005 and received in Jan 2006. Fees paid were the same:

$765 for the engine, $175 for shipping, plus an additional $50 for spares shipping, $100 for the intensive exam, $65 NY dock fees and $75 for the fees at Miami. Also a few tips ($20 here and there) down in Miami to keep things moving along (I.e. You dont have a dock level truck we cant load your trailer - yea - for $20 we drive the fork lift down the ramp).

Engine quality very good.

Very interesting rounding up. I also recently purchased a GTC as did a few friends. I was pleased with the quality. and plan on buying at least one more engine. I am not exactly certain who may have played a part in the manufacture / parts, but I liked the price and quality. I think GTC is trying to break into the market, and it appears the market is expanding as more and more people discover these engines. I think you'll see similar observations from Cujet (Chris) & f1-rocketboy (Bob).

Chris, you really cranked a few of them up.... "Limpstick on pigs" wow and accurate to.  I wonder of I should mention that I also intend to balance and blueprint several components just to see if 30 to 40 years from now if I can leave the engine to my grandchildren. Everybody needs a hobbie.

What I find so interesting and at the same time difficult to understand is the truthful answer to the very simple question "Did your company build the engine?" can have so many answers.

It's as if there is a whole industry surrounding the selling and reselling of engines, each claiming to be the "real" source / builder. One one think the real engine maker would step forward and sell their product through official distributers or even direct to the customer from the "real" factory.

At times, I find myself actually thinking of taking a trip to India to seek the truth as well as greater engine enlightenment from what must be the one true engine builder. Gee......
