Waste Vegetable Oil / Re: Kubota on wvo?
« on: March 24, 2014, 12:30:09 AM »
i have a kubota rtv an it did NOT like veggy oil.
i tried a 80% veggy 10% gas,10%diesel and celltane buster .  had to drain it and go back to diesel.
i never tried straight with heating it.
you can try your luck, but i would not think you will have any luck unless you go to extreme of changing alot of things to the engine.

i have Georges cd.
i ended up with .065 piston to head. thats with one gasket.
i'd have to have the head milled to get less.
and thanks dieselgman i'll set valves accordingly.
the rest of the engine is completed.
oh and i have .004 rod bearing clearance .,a little much but i think it will do.
26hrs of work. it will be worth it.
i'll be modifying for veggy oil when i get time.
George if you read this i'm still waiting for the thermostat housing, and idler bolts.

Listeroid Engines / things to know when going through a listroid
« on: March 14, 2014, 01:14:08 PM »
this is my second rebuild of a listroid . the first was about 12 years ago. a couple of things are hard to find without spending alot of time looking through the forum, are :head bolt tork, i found 165#'s  next rod bearing clearance .003, next cylinder squash [clearance] .045 to .055. this is all for the 6/1 listroid.
the way to do this i read is to, with shims to make up for the thickness of the  head., tork the head bolts down to 165# ? and lay a straight edge across the top add shims or remove shims until piston just touches ., the head gasket gives you the .045 to .055 clearance.
could all of these things  be put in the wall of knowledge as are the governor springs?
correct any thing that is wrong of course.
getting old i forgot how i did my first one. in saying that it has over 8000hrs on it with only a timing gear and injection pump replaced.
but that is not the topic here as is finding the information in a easy access place all together on this forum.

Listeroid Engines / Re: injector cleaning problem on 6/1 listroid
« on: June 24, 2012, 04:03:19 AM »
i, never  took it apart that far., i was just saying that it seemed like the rack was off a tooth or so.
i always was able to clean it. without disassembing that far. i dont have the tool to do it anyway.
any way the problem is solved, i had the valve up side down.
thinking about it i  dont know why it did what it did in over speeding.

Listeroid Engines / Re: Injector pump manual
« on: June 16, 2012, 04:00:22 AM »
you should not need that tool unless your pump is leaking so bad that your getting fuel into the crankcase.
in that case i would buy a new pump. i guess you could replace the pump plunger and sleeve.
sorry it took so long to get back  my computer locked up.
i use laquer thinner to clean the gue that veggie oil makes when in contacting with air.
