Engines / Lister TR3 Overheating
« on: November 03, 2017, 11:58:18 AM »
Hi guys
So I've stripped my engine back to the crankcase, cleaned everything,  replaced all the gaskets and fitted new injectors but the thing is still overheating for some reason. It had also had new oil, fuel, air filters and fresh oil.
It starts and runs fine but then cuts out after about two hours.
Any clues?
Thanx for your time
Allan

Thanks Samo. I will indeed be trying that first thing. I'm hoping that it is just air in the system as I have just had the injectors services and the nozzles replaced. Thanx for your time.

Engines / TR3 Bleeding Fuel
« on: October 17, 2017, 06:18:50 PM »
Ok. So now I have had my injectors out, stripped, cleaned, and rebuilt my engine. I have bled the fuel lines in the usual way up to the nuts at the base of the Swan necked fuel lines but I still can't get the thing to start. There must be something I'm missing. Could anyone help me further? Thanx in advance.

Engines / Lister TR3 How To Remove Injectors
« on: October 01, 2017, 07:45:47 AM »
Good morning wonderful people. I have to get my injectors serviced and repaired only I can't get them out. I have taken the head off of the first one but this still doesn't seem to make it any easier.  :-\ Any advice would be massively appreciated. Thanx.    :D

Thanx. Is it possible to remove the injectors without having to remove the cylinder heads?

In that case they will be steel then, and tarnished...

I checked the leak off pipes (which are copper in my case) and changed the copper washers but that does not seem to have been the problem. I'm guessing from your response that I must have the lucas type. I will see about removing them and checking the O rings. I will let you know how I get on. Thanx once again.

Engines / Lister TR3 Leaking Injectors

I have a Lister TR3 and over the last few weeks the injectors have started to leak. It started with just one injector and now all three are leaking. Anyone have any clues as to what might have caused this and how I might rectify the situation..?
Thanx
