Any one have any spare valve keepers? As I was assembling the valves on the last one I released my spring tool and one keeper flow in to orbit. Any help very much appreciated. Tony.

Hi Amos, my 2 cents worth, drilling holes in the shield very bad idea,    for 30 years I did rebuild water pumps and have dealt with many brgs  and 99% of the time brgs failed because of contamination, and a couple of drops of oil will contaminate the brg.
shielded brgs are designed to operate on there own lubricant, also shielded brgs will let some oil in, so there for I would recommend using rubber shielded brgs. Tony.

Listeroid Engines / valve guides
« on: January 17, 2014, 03:41:08 AM »
Today we discovered something we have not read about before. While doing a new valve job on our 10/1 we needed to replace the valve guides as they were worn out, not having any in stock we robbed some off Tony's 14/1 as they were the same size. After having installed them, and were finished with all the machining, we noticed small holes in the old 10/1 guides that are not in the 14/1 guides. Our guess is that the holes
(see the picture)
are for oil to get down into the guides. ANY THOUGHTS OR COMMENTS?
