$99 gen works like a champ, cooked a pot of coffee, and then ran 2 x 48" two tube fixtures a 24" box fan and a 19" tube type tv for over 7 hours on less than 1 gal of fuel. I really like it when super chaep things like this exceed my expectaitions .

good to  hear, mine fired right up also . I was amazed at how quite the engine is with open manifold, although I am sure it get pretty darn loud under load.   They are really smoot

oil leak wasnt anything major , there was just a flake of paint aprox .1" wide by 1" long that had found its way between the crank shaft and the oil seal and was letting a bit of oil run out onto the counter.
There is a fair bit of overspray on the polished end of the crank, right up to the edge of the seal, the overspray makes for a very rough textured area that might tend to grab  stuff like the loose flek of paint.  I was rather suprised at how easy it was to pull the flywheel , the 4 bolts were easily loosened with a std 14mm box end wrench and were only hand tight , no need for a breaker bar .  I would like to find the proper torque for these bolts to insure they are tight enough.

If you look at the pic you will see a fith hole in the end of the crank for an index pin , I am usre its used to index the crank in the crank turning and grinding machine when the crank was being made , You would figure there would be an index pin in the flywheel but not so

Had to pull the flywheel to chase an oil leak. Thoght I would snap a few pics while it was apart.

I didnt get by there today but will before the week is over.

I had read that the engine driven york was such a flop that they recalled them and exchanged conventional units .

On a side note i used to work for a company building mold handeling equipment and got to spend a bit of time in the York foundry in Elyria while they were casting huge V config compressors , It seems they were V8 or V10 , I remember they were being built to go on navy ships for compressed air .  There was one on a train car going to the machine shop next door, which I did not get to go into , and one in the shop , the bore of each cyclinder was so large there was a fellow standing in one on a step ladder grinding out flashing . they had psiton castings there also that were about the hieght of a 55 gallon drum and a litle larger in diam

I believe they were just briggs and stratton 5hp engines fitted for ng or propane

the engine and gen need to be solidly mounted on a common frame so that the belt remains tight

I think your going to be surprised at just how smooth this engine runs, I have cranked one of mine  a couple of times and its dead smooth , I really dont see any need in huge isolation mounts.  I am only putting them under my frame to avoid any possible "drumming" since my gen shed has a wood floor

the pics I have show the engine and driven acces rigidly mounted together , cradle mounted on rubber isolators.  I am mounting the gen and engine together ridgidly to a frame, frame will sit on isolation mounts . Ill have some pice added to my build thread in a couple of days

my plan is to use a very similar mount as the mounts used to bolt the engine to the pallet but a bit heavier.   Instead of flat plate for the uprights that bolt to the sode of the block I am using angle that comes up from my frame
