Lister Based Generators / Has Anyone Run a S-O-M Alternator from a Low-Speed Diesel?
« on: February 27, 2009, 09:13:15 PM »
Just picked up a used S-O-M alternator and top box (no control box)
Was wondering about hooking it up to a Ruston 375rpm diesel, which would be a 4 to 1 step up to get 1500rpm.
That would need a BIG B series groove pulley. The S-O-M pulley is about 10" OD, pitch line for the belt is about 10" dia.
Has anyone done this? Any major problems? The Ruston is 11hp.
