I am in the process of hooking up the 12/2 10kw gen set to the house electric pannel. I will be running about 43 meters (124 some odd feet) of cable underground from the electric pannel switches to the gen shed plug-in & my electrician asked me to pick up 4 # 6 underground cable. They didn't have such a thing at the outlet I went to and advised me that 3 # 6 would do the job. Unable to verify with my electrician, (off on another job at the moment)...so took what they had. Not cheap!
Just wondering if I did the right thing. Any input from our electricians. Will this do the job? Is it over kill?  Compared to the cable I am presently running from the Mitsubichi 5800 it is elephant in size & 3 X as expensive. My question is...will this do the job on a 50amp breaker for the Listeroid? binnie (I want to be able to hook up the Mitsubichi to the same cable incase of down time on the 12/2) binnie
