Generators / st head not doing watt it use to
« on: August 22, 2007, 03:31:56 AM »
pops 12/1 w 10k. 1000rpm w/ m.m. supermax pulley. the set up was flawless for a 100 hrs or so. im not shur watts happin. the riod run super wiith or wirhout a load. freq allways hung pritty close meaning we had a gov to do its job. thats a scarry thought. today there was an odd scene.  the gov went hunting (rpms up and down). this had never happened before and it looked like the riod was takin a beatin. bellows of smoke pickin up slackin on theway down. the jamb nut had come loose between the set me and the jam me nuts on the gov linkage to the rack.  the rpms were going up and down. got that figured out got a steady 60.5 hz but now the volts are 104 per leg. this has always been wired 230 and havent modified anything. the reostat on the avr seems to have lost its control. any body got a clue ?

General Discussion / 3 phase converters
« on: November 01, 2006, 02:53:11 AM »
dont want to start ww3 here but am needing 3 phase for epuip and have to convert or generate as the local utility would want the 4th mortgage. have worked with it for years but all i knew was 3 hot legs is 3 phase. well good and true but i got more interested when i got a lathe w/ a 2 speed motor 3 phase of course. the big Q is rotary vs static. i understand to much to get into trouble bet not enough to help out. this is it correct me if i have  not understood correctly. here goes.  from the static converters so far that i have have seen (motor start relay) and a couple caps and such you de rate your load 1/3 giving you 4 hp from a 6 hp motor. with rotary you use a 3phase motor higher in hp + caps than your load. the prob here is that you are generating a 3rd leg witch has to stay in phase with what you started with. i do understand that a 3 phase motor is basic 3 motors in one. the catch is with any 3 phase converted or not if the voltage differs the motor life is directly realted. ,got all the goods just didnt want to run any chitlins out the drive ways on beggers wein. the girl friend wanted piece in the hood  i told her this is the "BLUE SMOKE TEST" she said u better......    got to  if there is a better im shure yual will post the 7.5 hp is US 1740 9wire from best guess 69-72 the lathe is zubal 70-75 tks all

Waste Vegetable Oil / filtering wvo
« on: August 04, 2006, 01:08:46 AM »
love the spinning to extract the unwanted proven they do work {some of them}.  just for the 2 pennys i have been using a toilet paper filter that is suppose to be around 1 micron. for those who want to try it is a compressed air filter to remove water. the model i have is a m-60 made by " motor gaurd corp" it is 1/2 npt in and out the replacement filters from them are m 723. not sure of the $ as it was a gimmie i do remember the filters to be way more than tp this is a canister that spilts in 1/2 with a quad ring to seal. after many atempts i put the filter on the suction side of operation. the quad would give out mant spit balls not round would fly randomly and the sticky goo was everywhere and flys too.  the # is 209 239 9191. yes it is a air filter but it does work for wvo also am using a hyd motor/pump to move the wvo yes there is such a thing. grainger 4f653. noisey but chucked up in a 1/2 hammer drill on low 1100 rpm about 9 gph. did get racor biocide bad a stuff 1.5 oz per 100 gal. of distillate fuels gas #1 & #2 diesel and bunker c  this is to kill fungi and backteria. did mix in so im hopin it good sorry for the on and on but got to tell it like it is
