It's a bit slow on the forum so I"ll post something. Few days ago there was a lister cs with a build on compressor for sale. There was a bit of 600E I think thats what it sold for.
Think that might have been a good investment. Was only online for two days and gone.

And there's a VA for sale not mine...
Couple of cs's some JP's,

Busy with perkins at the moment no time for listers.
Greetings Bernhard

Still some brackets missing, found they were on the fuel tank. Was the first run in the new location.

Maybe a stupid question, I was looking at a china clone that came up for sale and I am just wondering where can you get a pulley. Tried several google searches but could not find anything.

Listeroid Engines / aswamegh should I buy
« on: October 05, 2018, 11:08:11 PM »
It's really amazing. For years there's nothing for sale... and then it rains. I was not looking for engines I have more then enough but I came across a listeroid 6-1 from 2010. it came from a tugboat they say. Asking price 300euro. It looks ok on the pictures except there's a hose from the crankcase breather to the intake manifold. And the starter handle is knackered.
The say they don't know it runs they just took it out of the tug.......allready gives you a feeling. They manage to lift 300kgs from a tug but don't manage to start it...

I am in doubt to make a rediculous offer but I have this gut feeling I am going to be stuck with it. Could be the first time in my lister history I made a few bucks on an engine or I need a new crankshaft ... or else and am stuck with another lump of steel.

Just to remind you, in theory I can have a 8 cilinder cs running, thats enough I suppose, with three of the cilinders being in very bad shape.

If I buy it is just to pass it on. If I can...
And for the coming time I don't really have time to work on engines.

Original Lister Cs Engines / New engine and parts from India
« on: October 03, 2018, 01:39:20 AM »
Greetings lads,

I just bought the last engine untill I will sell some other thats a promise.  Few months ago I bought a 12/2 or10/2 wich was nothing but a heap of worn out parts and  rat poo.
Kept my eyes open and found a reasonably priced runner with 16/2 flywheels and magnetic aluminium pistons. According to the guy he took the top end from a just overhauled 10/2 with a broken crankshaft (30 years ago). I asked him 3 times about  the pistons yes aluminium, just checked it's some new kind of aluminium it's magnetic. Explaines why it was jumping around on the video he send me. Apparently also the cilinder heads are special the injectors are water cooled so firstdrain before you take them out.
First intention was to use it as a crankshaft donor for the other engine. but it's not that bad i gues so now I need a crankshaft and alu pistons.

Few years ago I did a fairly big order from anand india, it was really cheap but with fedexx and all the taxes it's was more then triple the price that I paid anand.
I was just wondering would it be hard to join up and order a partial container with other people in need of affordable parts. In my case I am talking about mainland europe you can pass parts on relative cheap. I think you could get parts at double the price as in India. Wich is not bad I think.

Next days I will try to upload some pictures.

Changfa Engines / Yanmar ts105c diesel aggregaat
« on: July 15, 2018, 01:45:10 AM »
Maybe not the wright place for the topic but I thought changfa is the yanmar clone....
This Guy has a Yanmar set for sale with a 5 kw generator for 350E thats pfff 400 dollar us. I looked into it engine type is from the 70's so the set most likely is aswell. I am in it for the generator.
I want to couple it to a lister cs or va. And it's an hour drive.
Is a yanmar ts105c of some value after this time and how about a 40 year old generator it still can take some load. I don't have a megger tester at home but how does a generator behaves after so much time.

Wonder about your opinions.

Greetings Bernhard

Maybe somebody knows wich liner to put in a standard lister block. By now i have a few blocks that could do with a new inner part. I have searched the forum but i cannot find the real pointer.
Ithink it is cheaper to go to a machine shop with a few liners under my arm then let him search for the good match.

Original Lister Cs Engines / New member
« on: April 21, 2018, 11:59:58 PM »
Goodday to you all, I should have been a member allready a long time ago. I started with my listers after seeing the movie of Ken Boak on youtube. Now I have got three complete listers and a half one.
By "accident" I bought two listers in england on ebay, I used a betting robot because I always lost in the last seconds......and then you have them both.... One is a SOM 6-1 in running condition working as a CHP.
Otherone is still in parts but complete.
AT the moment busy with a lister VA, just a paint job actually was running when I bought it two years ago. The plan was to sell it but I am afraid it will stay. Came from an old fishing trawler.

My CHP setup was the real challenge I spend huge amounts of time in automation, arduino, esp8266. And actually thats the bigger hobby now.
CHP is a disaster with my exhaust gas cooler, clogging up each time. I proved my point it's really working but I think I will tear it down in the near future.

The reason that really pushed me to finally subscribe....the SOM was complete when i bought it box generator fuel tank etc. Only the generator took me a lot of time to clean it was super dirty and after it looked like new again the cables were very brittle I did not dare to put it to service, the isolation of the cables just dried out. (the cable that comes out of the coil)
I read a few stories on the forum about rewinding it but all the stories took another path after a while, did anybody try it having it rewinded.
And I still remember I was looking for new bearings and the price was mmm...
At the moment it's driving a three fase motor and it's a dahlander two speed so I just start it with the same motor.

Maybe for a later time I will ask for the original cilinder and piston it's super oversize.

Oh yes almost forgot, Bernhard dutch .

Greetings bernhard
