For sale is a Original Lister CS 12/2 Made in England, this engine was part of the Bob O'Riley auction 3 years ago. He purchased 10 Brand new engines in the early 70's and never opened them up. Only two were Twins and this is one of them. I have the original documentation, Wooden crate, and Lister wrenches that it came with. I belted up a new Kellogg compressor to help seat the rings and to start my larger Air start engines at a local show. I ran this engine very little and it has been sitting inside my shop since. The paint didn't hold up great and is pealing in some spots but could easily be touched up. It starts and runs great. I have two videos, one of the very first run in over 40 years and the other is last fall when I was testing the compressor setup.

Lister Market Place (things for Sale) / Lister CS 6/1 W Radiator
« on: April 28, 2017, 08:13:33 PM »
I have a Original Lister CS 6/1 Im thinking about selling. I have been in the process of completely restoring it over the last year but can't seem to come up with the time to finish it and I could really use the funds for another project. I know my asking price is a little high but that's what I would need to get out of it in order to let it go, any less and I will just leave it in the shed and get to it eventually. So here is the details.
Lister block
Lister crank -.02 and polished
New main bearings, new big end -.02 bearings
lister connection rod new small end bushing
new gidgeon pin, piston and rings
Lister head decked .005 just to clean it up, new valves, springs and guides.
Lister rocker cover no cracks
NOS lister oil pump
NOS oil lines
Lister flywheels
Lister fuel filter
Lister jug, had some freeze damage and has been professionally repaired, bore is good.
.020 offset idler shaft
NOS injector line
Rare lister intake with the vertical ribs
Lister flat belt pulley
2 Lister radiators one is in great shape with the factory shrouding, brass tags, two lister fan pulleys and fans.
New bryce fuel pump
I bored and bushed the lifter galley for the fuel and oil pump.
New oil and fuel pump lifters
Lister crank case cover
The Engine is almost completely assembled, the crank, rod, piston, rings, is installed, the head is on and torqued down, piston bump is set. Flywheels are not fixed yet I haven't finished confirming the timing.

Please no low ball offers.
Only trades I would even consider at this point would be A horizontal English built diesel. But I would prefer cash.

Other Slow Speed Diesels / Ruston 2xhr single flywheel Project underway
« on: October 08, 2016, 02:09:00 AM »
Its been one week today, i made a 24 hour round trip to pick up the ole girl from a nice gentleman in Canada.  Its a 2xhr single flywheel with all the air start components including factory air tank. The engine was imported to Montreal in 1945 and installed in a college in the engineering department. By the look of the bearing and journal wear it safe to say it was hardly ever ran. The flywheel is massive at 50.5 inches in diameter by 4.5 wide. The main issue I have had with the single flywheel outer suppory bearing design is building a sufficient cart for it. I bought the engine to show, English built diesels seem to be far and few between at the shows i go too. I will be posting pictures soon i still don't have this smart phone figured out.

Other Slow Speed Diesels / The National Has traded Hands Again.

So I worked out a deal dangling an older 10/2 lister under Butch's nose and left with his National, not without adding a little to the pot of course. It is such a beautiful and well built engine I just feel if I passed it up I would seriously be kicking myself in the butt later on. Once I got it home I decided I was going to go through it and tighten some things up on. I ended up getting a new wrist pin made for it out of 4140 hardened ground and polished, I made a new small end bronze bushing. Im getting the crank mains polished and the con rod journal ground round. I also put new rings in it and the first ring grove was a tad out of spec so I trued and widened the grove so I could run a .030 spacer. All in all the engine is in excellent condition but it had just been ran a little thats all. One thing I felt was interesting is I took the fuel pump apart to review the internals for signs of wear and it looked new, but hear is the the interesting part it has a 8mm fuel element. So in perspective Dads Ruston 1xHR has the same as my Listers 6.5mm, the displacement on the Ruston is 186CI and the National is 213CI. So its not that much larger of a engine to have that much more fuel going to it, maybe that explains whys its rated at 13Hp vs the Ruston which is only 8hp.

Lister Market Place (things for Sale) / Lister JP3 27/3
« on: August 14, 2016, 01:49:12 AM »
So I finally picked up my Jp3 and WOW this engine is way bigger then I thought. I honestly had no idea and my tractor won't even budge it, So good thing my farmer buddy has a big ole john deere to help get it off the trailer. The engine seems to in good shape, it has been beat around a little I guess because of the sheer size of this thing making it a little difficult to move around. It runs but I can here a little bypass from two of the cylinders when turning it over slowly and it does smoke a little. So my needs have changed since I gave the commitment to the gentleman I bought it from a few months ago so I decided to put it up for sale.
I will take some pictures tomorrow when I get a chance.
Im not looking to make a penny on the engine but I did probably pay to much for it, maybe because I was so excited to find one . But anyway I paid $1500 so thats what im asking
My only trade interest would be a Ruston Hornsby diesel preferably on the smaller side.

Original Lister Cs Engines / Lister 12/2 uncrating pictures
« on: December 16, 2015, 01:43:16 AM »
So im sure most of you heard the story of the new in crate lister's that went on the auction block a few months back. I consider myself extremely fortunate to be in a position to be able to bid on one of the 12/2's and win.  It was a large investment but I have been looking for the perfect show engine for many years and I figured that was the perfect candidate with a once in a lifetime story to go with it. So I wanted to share with the lister community the pictures I took during the uncrating process. I will be slowly posting more as they upload.

I have a lister 12/2 and I would like to put a oil pressure gauge on it, does anybody have an idea of what the are and if they are available? I also noticed in pictures there seems to be a valve under the gauge, is that an isolator valve or a shutoff.
Thanks for the help
