Things I want to Buy / Bush Bearings for Lister CS Startomatic
« on: September 28, 2010, 10:25:40 PM »
I need some main bush bearings for a CS Startomatic if anyone knows where to get some.  There used to be a website in the UK that sold indian ones but I  guess they are out of business.  I can't access the site anymore.  That will teach me to drag my feet.

Original Lister Cs Engines / Listeroid cylinder on Original Lister?
« on: March 31, 2008, 04:41:23 AM »
Who has put a Listeroid cylinder on an original Lister?  Was it the replica of the original Lister cylinder or was it the Listeroid cylinder with the wet liner?  How is it holding up so far?  Where can I get one?

General Discussion / Links Page?
« on: March 31, 2008, 03:53:56 AM »
Moderator,

Is it possible to have a page dedicated to other websites?  I had an address for a parts distributer in England but my computer crashed and I lost all my "favorites" links and cannot find it now.  A search has revealed 36 pages for me to sift through to try and find the link on here.  It may be a good idea to provide a page for us to save links on or add "post its" to so that we can refer to them as needed.  There is alot of good information on other websites that we may all benefit from.

Thanks

Generators / 4 wire 12 wire?
« on: March 19, 2007, 02:23:01 AM »
I don't know crap about gen ends so I guess I better start trying to figure things out.  Whats the difference between 12 and 4 wire gen ends?  I suppose there are 6 and 8's also?

Generators / Inverter Generators
« on: February 17, 2007, 02:40:59 PM »
I have been looking at those Honda 3000I inverter Generators.  Anyone have any experience with these?  I'm not sure how these work.  Does it take less horsepower to make more KW's using this technology?  Could we get more Kw's out of our Lister's?  The 3000I is pretty compact.

Generators / 50 hz gen to 60 hz
« on: February 13, 2007, 10:09:19 AM »
Hi

A guy at work gave me a gen end.  He said it works but its 50 hz.  I know you just spin them faster to get 60 hz but doesn't that increase the voltage to?  Will a 60 hz voltage regulator correct the problem?  Or, is there a simple adjustment you can make to convert 50 hz to 60 hz without an increase in voltage?  Thanks

General Discussion / House Burning Down

I see some members have, unfortunately, lost their houses to fire.  Are these generator related?  Is the ST head a concern?

Listeroid Engines / Pushrod length?
« on: October 07, 2006, 09:40:56 PM »
Ok I am going to fab up a pushrod out of a Massey pushrod.  It's long enough to cut and braze a ball bearing to the end.  It has a cup at the top very similiar to Listers.  Can someone give me the length for the intake pushrod?  Is the intake the same as the exhaust?   I have the exaust but the intake is missing the cup.  Thanks.

Listeroid Engines / Stiff Rack.....and not my ole lady's
« on: October 04, 2006, 12:00:41 AM »
I was wondering, if the engine isnt running should you be able to move the rack?  This one is pretty stiff it takes alot of force to move it.....seems to me it should just slide easily...no?  Could I have messed anything up by forcing it to move when it didn't want to?

Other Slow Speed Diesels / Witte Diesel Electric Genset
« on: September 17, 2006, 05:36:06 PM »
I came across this engine while I was searching for an original Lister.   Its  12 hp Witte single, 720 rpms, 8 KW head.  Has a pony starter.  Real nice unit.  I am the new owner  ;D  and very happy indeed.  I will continue to look for an original Lister though.

Listeroid Engines / Its here!!!!!
« on: February 08, 2006, 03:58:26 AM »
I just picked up my PS 6/1 from the freight terminal.  I got it unloaded ok...almost ran out of boom on my shop crane.  I had the engine on the back of a 4x4....should have taken a 2 wheel drive.  I can't uncrate it yet because I have to build a small wagon to sit it on so I can drag it in the garage, those iron castors on the crane don't roll too well in the gravel.  I'm pretty sure it will be safe in the drive way for now....if someone can get it in their truck , I guess they can have it...lol.  Ironically, Georges Lister longevity CD came in the mail today also.  I'll be content reading over it the rest of the night.  I dont think I'll sleep much tonight, I feel like a kid on christmas eve again.
