Engines / Re: TL2 fuel pump
« on: September 04, 2020, 10:59:50 PM »
i tried today with another pump bolted in shimmed.but when i go to tighten down the fuel pump nut .the nut in the center where one end goes to the injector pipe the other goes to the pump body
if i tighten it and turn the flywheel slowly the pump shaft stops the rotation and bottoms out. if i loosen the fuel pump nut 2 turns the fuel pump goes up and down fine.i know the screw on the face just below the
fuel inlet banjo bolt. well, is that bolt on the face of the pump suppose to ride in a groove?i took it out and watched with a light thru that hole and could not see a channel or groove while turning the flywheel
will take some pics

Engines / TL2 fuel pump
« on: September 03, 2020, 09:44:42 PM »
put a new fuel pump in turned the engine over about twice and one of the fuel pump hold down bolts snapped right off. then i took the pump out and the
spring loaded shaft snapped in two. got my magnet and nothing was in the whole except the insert and the tappet. i pulled the insert out but, did not look if the
raised center was up or down. but, i know i put it raised center up.have not taken tappet out yet.any clue what it could be?now i wonder if the roller and bushing are shot!
next time i will turn it over by hand. any help is appreciated.

Engines / TL2 fuel pumps
« on: July 11, 2020, 08:16:38 AM »
Chef here, have two new fuel pumps. installed one shimmed, right on the timing mark. the second one (old one) was a stanadyne pump in the hole pulled it and now i don't know
what stay's in the pump whole? with a new bryce fuel pump. do you leave all parts in up to the tappet? and just install the complete fuel pump on top of tappet?little bit lost on this second
fuel pump. it is not the same set up as the first one. need to figure out what stays in the fuel pump hole? any help much appreciated.

Engines / valve job
« on: September 14, 2019, 02:04:39 PM »
it needs a valve job  valve inserts, valve guides ect. i have all the new parts.
so when i send it to the machine shop should i send it in pieces or put it together
with the old parts and let them take it apart? the cost of doing the valve job is 200.00
with a turn around in a week i thought that was reasonable
