Gentlemen, Greetins from L.A.- Lower Alabama! I've been lurkin around for over a year here and registered as a member a month or so ago. Never posted on any type of forum before so please bear w me. In regards to the x-rays that Gary mentioned, they were taken using approx 69 curies of Iridium 192 with an exposure time of 50 min. This is enough for 50,000 or so chest x-rays +or - a few. they were shot outside of the shop in a field due to the risk of back-scatter issues due to all of the metal in the shop. The thickness of the flywheel and the fact that we only had 69 curies (A fresh rad source would have 100 to 110 curies) dictated the long exposure time. That and the fact that there was a slight breeze that day made the task that much more challenging. Will try again when we have a fresh source and no wind. The flywheel is off of a 6-1 outlaw air-compressor imported from Canada. Kinda makes me feel likea rum-runnin Kennedy!!! My next engine will be bought in Kansas sometime around Christmas. Will post photos a.s.a.p. I visited Gary and his shop in late may this year and can honestly say that there is more Lister green there than probably anyplace in N.America!!! 1st class all the way!
