Engines / Adding a fuel pump to an ST
« on: March 28, 2010, 04:43:28 PM »
I have a Lister ST2 with a blank for the fuel pump. One of the Amish Generator Kings from here told me an old Ford tractor fuel pump works and some drill rod cut to the right length. He couldn't remember exactly what size, length. Has anyone done this? Any part numbers and drill rod specs would be great

Lister Based Generators / Lister ST2-BRUSH genset help
« on: July 10, 2009, 02:41:23 AM »
I recently purchased a genset with a ST2 Lister 1999ST227-04 and a brush electric 7Kva SCA2 foot mopunted generator head. I am new and have some questions. first I have the manual and partslist for the Lister and I cannot find the HP rating anywhere, it rund great. looks like an AC delco startor was fabbed on it some time ago but works. leaks oil a bit and have a gasket set to rebuild the top end. The rest of the questions is with the BRUSH generator. I have the manual in pdf from Brush if anyone needs it, I am trying to source brushes for it, the manual says the DC brushes are 5/16 x 7/8 grade CM6 and the slip ring brushes are 8 x 16mm grade CM5H, now I know these are a copper/graphite based brush but I am unsure of the lengths or where to get them, is there newer graes that work better? I took the gen to a local shop and he says the thing is dirty and old, looks like its been overheated but still makes power.  Some of the brushes were not aligned properly on the slip rings and I need new ones. does anyone know where they are sold through still. is it worth it or am I better off buying an ST head? How big of an ST head could I go, 10kw?I was told these old gen heads fixed are still way better than anything new.

Thanks

There should be a 24v lead for starting, a 24v lead for charging the battery, and one ground for both. I have the service manual in pdf of the sca/scf brush generators
