Title: External oil filter - Chinese horizontal
Post by: Tanman on July 20, 2019, 03:07:41 AM
I know utterpower used to sell a special bolt to make it easy to add an external screw on oil filter to the Chinese diesels. Does anybody have one you would sell and or have a diy solution?

Hi Tanman, if you can get me the specifications of the item required I will try to run one up on the lathe., I`m guessing at a short tube with a thread at both ends and a couple of holes in between.

Thanks Bob, I don't have measurements yet, but I'll get those and hunt down a picture as well.

If I remember correctly, it was a banjo bolt with a threaded hole in the head.

Is this the sort of thing your talking about.

Yes an external spin on diesel/tractor oil filter would be great. What do you guys think about just tapping the oil pan and having an electric pump circulate the oil? This way you wouldn't alter the factory oil system, but it would still filter the oil through a modern changeable filter.

It's only an opinion - but the best feature of these machines, IMHO, is their simplicity . . .

Why make things compicated?

I suspect you could achieve the same end by just changing the oil twice as often?
