There are a few issues to resolve on both sides of the pond. In India, the tax incentive and regulation goes to providing complete finished product, current regulation in the USA allows only parts and pieces. Gaining willing cooperation of the business network in India is possible, but can be difficult at times. If I thought we could sell at least 6 units, I would be willing to tackle the full container once again. We usually fit about 30 to 40 units in a 20' container.

Ship the whole engines to the Philippines and then ship the "kits" from the Philippines to the US?

balance on a single 6/1 is tough/impossible, what's it like with a oversize single, what bolts are required to anchor it?

Excuse the genuine if simplistic question but what would the advantage be of one of these engines over the other comparable in say Kubota's, yanmayrs or other diesels of the same sort of output?
By the looks of the ones in the vids, the "megaroids" are not slow, they are not quiet, their longevity is not determined, they would be very heavy, take up a lot of space and may well have the typical issues of normal Roids.
Run them at 650rpm - not slow?
Balance and exhaust them through a good silencer system, not quiet?
Weight and space? Maybe not relevant factors for everyone.
Longevity - depends on your build quality... the design has some history and as far as I can fathom, is just an upscale of existing proven technology.

Interesting that the Indians have been able to produce such large single cylinder engines, personally I would have thought it easier, and cheaper, to build a smaller twin cylinder unit. All very well increasing the bore and stroke, have they increased the size of the crankshaft, bearings and housings to cope with this extra power output? How big a man and starting handle do you need to swing an 22/1 into life? Unless they get the balancing right it will quickly destroy itself, alternatively it will destroy the foundation it`s sat on before exiting the building and laying waste to the neighborhood. :laugh:

As with all decent builds, you must address proper balancing. Starting is very comparable to any of the smaller displacement units. You have a little more reciprocating mass, but you spin that portion up to speed with compression released and then just let the rotating mass carry it through the first starting impulses when you close the exhaust valve. It has heavier flywheels to help make it happen.
