Title: Electric start PH2
Post by: Brett175 on June 17, 2018, 10:52:50 AM
Hi all, Iím new to the forum so please excuse me if Iím posting in the wrong section. Iíve been using lister engines on drillingís rigs for nearly 15years , Iíve recently started my own drilling company and own 2 drilling rigs, the first is a Dando 175 with a TS3 engine , this has just stopped charging itself and after trying everything Iím now 99% sure itís the coilings, any advice on replacing them would be greatly appreciated, the second rig is a handle start ph2 engine, the engine itself is leaking oil and diesel and not the easiest to fire up, Iím thinking of just replacing this for a reconditioned electric start engine, does anyone have any recommendations for companies to get quotes from?

Iíd like to do most of the work myself but work is so busy at the moment that I just do not have the time.

Iím based in Kent, any local recommendations for fitters or suppliers would be hugely appreciated

Thanks, brett.

Hi Brett, welcome aboard!

If you don't mind paying top whack, this company ( are selling reconditioned PH2s. I've no idea if they're electric or hand start, or even if electric start is an option.  Also, I can't give an opinion on the company, having never dealt with them.

If you don't fancy spending the thick end of £3000 ex VAT, your best bet I think would be to try to find a decent runner on eBay or similar.

They don't allow much for a "serviceable" exchange engine.

try these

You could also try here:

and here:

You have correctly diagnosed the problem on the LP TS3 engine, , its almost always the windings that go, and because they are behind the flywheel they are a pain to replace
