I come to these sites from time to time and the same shit is on the screen.  Such as "BANNED FROM LISTER ENGINE FORUM"!!!!  Isn't there any one who can make this shit disappear?  I sometimes make stupid posts and they also never go away.  In this enlightened age I can't believe this cant be handled.

If that's all you have to whinge about, why not log onto the Samaritan site, I'm sure they'll treat your post with post with the reverence you so clearly think it deserves.

Isn't there any one who can make this shit disappear?

Yes.

Me.

If you'd like to explain in a little more detail, preferably a little more comprehensively and a little less emotionally, perhaps I can address your issue?

Or I could just ban you.

Your call.

Thats the problem with the internet and such. All the dumb crap you put on there tends to stick around, only to bite you in the arse many years later. Still trying to teach my kids that. Maybe posting that naked selfie isnt a good idea after all.....

My question is a simple one, have you rehabilitated yourself? If you have and you wish to add something useful or learn something from those on the forum you are welcome. If not, then it is back to the naughty step for you.
Forgive and move on, unresolved feuds do more harm than good. AdeV can always ban you later.

The trick is to have the honor of being banned for posting the truth, the absolute truth, presented properly, without agenda or argument, bias, malice or ill intention. Now that's a righteous ban!

On a renewable greenwashed site, I was shitcanned for posting links to creditable organizations that undermined the parroted fantasy beliefs and fairy tales they wanted to push.
There are plenty of people here that are green motivated but for the most part, are honest in their outlooks and admit limitations where they exist.
This other lot were just drinking WAAAY too much Koolaide.

After hurricane Erma, my twin listeroid 20/2 was chugging away, a slight haze of diesel exhaust when under heavy load. Probably not all that green, but certainly an excellent backup to grid power during emergencies. Furthermore, I'm not at all sure I should be required (or even pressured) to be green during a bona-fide emergency. The good news is that I burned up a few gallons of ancient olive oil too. (rather than dump the olive oil in the Everglades... ) [sarc]

I'm getting so I can't stop laughing about some of the contributions.  Whether the post sounds like Archie Bunker or Meathead.  A little growth would be so refreshing.

And I would bet my backside, the most hysterical, greenwashed, never satisfied, Environmental loudmouth would plug into your " Dirty" power in a heart beat if they could keep the lights on at night and the Tofu cold in the fridge when their power was out.

For once I agree with you 100%.

If you could quietly send me the address it sounds just a bit like my side of the street.  Don't tell a bunch of people though as I'm kind of bashful about my philosophies.

There is much restraint on this forum.  Most I visit would have considered the OP's second post that of a troll and banned on the spot and rightly so.

Wow;
I just stopped back in and checked the responses to my post about old ones never being removed.  I didn't mean to sound like a whinger?  I come here at times to learn some things as I can.  I do own slow turning water cooled diesels and use them though I don't consider myself a visionary.  What I do know about them I learned from others. Was really surprised to get attacked by the moderator.  I won't post in the future unless I'm sure I haven't had a glass of wine and might offend.  Mr. Moderator please feel free to remove any of my previous posts that you desire.

Hi Johndoh;
Interesting quote.  Thank you for giving credit to the author, (which is so seldom done today),  I have reviewed  my post that started all of this and still find myself thinking I would not have been infuriated by it.  My only reason for being here is to follow the heavy flywheel diesels.  A few of the responses indicate some tolerance.  Others are downright ugly.  Is this a closed group?  Why have a forum that is available to outsiders?   My concern is the small number of current posts.  Obviously from the number of responses to my post a lot of people read this site frequently.  Maybe I miss the avenues to find the Lister related articles.  I will look further.  No hard feelings to you all and some of you seem like pretty good sorts.  Hopefully this does not seem like a thinly veiled attack because it is not.

The equation is not really all the hard to understand, its just hard to follow when emotion or alcohol  is helping one make his decisions. I have been guilty myself. A least here one can edit or remove his posts now, back when all this cyber forum stuff started once you posted it was there forever. Back then I developed a system that worked for me.

1. Think
2. Type
3. Read
4. Think again
5. Read again
6. Ask yourself would you say that in a room full of same people
7. If the answer is yes, click on Post

Hi 38ac, I`m in danger of sounding crass here but isn`t one of the purposes of any forum to allow free speech and thought? I`ve posted a lot of stuff here that I`d rather my wife didn`t see but I`m not ashamed of any of it. I try my best to avoid typos and foul language but sometimes vanilla just won`t do. I`d hate it if this forum and others become moderated to the point that enthusiastic contributors get banned for expressing themselves forcefully. We have nothing to fear but fear itself. People who express views different to ours should be tolerated and hopefully enlightened, who knows we might also learn something from them.

Those that express views contrary to the laws of the land should of course be discouraged or we could all end up in jail.

Has anyone been into a garage or repair workshop? Some choice language used there but I'm on a VAG forum that auto deletes "bad" language in case children see it. In my experience children and most women find forums dull boring and slightly sad and the users even more so, I know my missus does!

I usually dont indulge in such off topic banter but since you have called me out by name for reasons I do not understand maybe you would like to summarize taking both sides of an issue that YOU brought up? Are you for censoring posts or not? or just others posts and not yours?

I simply replied to the O.Ps original  post.
Why cant things he posted disappear?  answer is they can.

And one of his replies.
Maybe he should not post when inebriated ?  Answer- read it and think before posting.

All others post what ever you want and be proud of it. (like you need my permission eh?) , I dont have a say in it, dont own the site, dont moderate it and usually dont even read when posts go the way this one has,, and this is the reason why. I'm outa here :D

Okaaaaaayyyy, this has turned into quite the wierdest thread I've ever seen here! And that takes some doing....

Stevem: As far as I can see, you've made a grand total of 4 posts, one of which is at the head of this thread, one which appeared to be a genuine question, and now two more on this thread...

Presumably, you have an old user ID of which I am not aware (I'm a bit thick, I generally can't work out who used to have what old user ID, especially when I have nothing to go on), feel free to let me know (either via PM or in public, as you prefer).

i also have no desire to delete any posts, even the weird ones, because it takes many a mickle to make a muckle - or people to make an online community, and the more that post the better. Except spammers of course, but they're just scum. One got through the net last week but I managed to squash him pretty damn quick.

But anyway, I digress. To what old posts are you referring? I may be quite happy to delete any old posts that you feel are now worthless - but only if I agree, I'm afraid. Absolute power, and all that jazz...

OK Girls!

I was the first to stick the dagger into Stevem, looks like there there have only been two cockups.

The first was Stevem posting in a distraught state, the second was me, and the rest of the folks that posted on the thread jumping down his neck.

Whilst I'd still jump the same way, given similar provocation, it don't stop me being an unfeeling and thoughtless twat.

Given that Stevem admits to having written the email whilst under the influence and the rest of us leaped  to the defense of the forum it's no wonder the second occurred.

After an hour of vintage Fleetwood Mac ( courtesy of YouTube), a decent barbecue of leftovers and more than my share of 2 bottles of red wine, I feel it's time to let it go, this is a nice place, with nice people, we all fuck up once in while, I'm not into censorship so if Stevem can forgive me for casting the first stone we can all get back to the everyday problems and worries of the diesel addicted....

Night all

Hi 38ac, sorry for dragging you into what has turned out to be a totally pointless thread. I`d much rather you devoted your valuable time and expertise to showing us lesser mortals how stuff works.

My position on this subject is that members should be able to post whatever they like. I am not in favour of censorship. Any member taking offence at a post has the right to either reply or ignore it. AdeV does a fine job as moderator and I`m sure he would step in to prevent anyone from posting anything illegal, pornographic or extremist.

Now can we please all get back to the good stuff. ::)

Hey Johndoh, sadly I do remember those times, can`t remember what I did yesterday or where I left my glasses but forty years ago is clear as a bell. One that stands out was a night spent with a young lady in the back of an MGB GT (very cramped).
Woke up the following morning to find that the local traders had put up the market around us.

Happy days

Happy days indeed! The Mk3 Cortina was a 2000E tan vinyl over BRG full leather interior. I remember  more about the car than the young lady (in all honesty you really didn't want a lady)!

Sadly nowadays, it takes us all night to do what we used to do all night. I`ll stick to diesel engines they don`t nag, get pregnant or F off with the next door neighbour.

I remember the cars well, had a mate with a 2.8 injected Capri, went like hell in a straight line, just no good when it came to a corner. Also knew a guy with a Jensen Interceptor. He picked it up cheap cos it had a blown motor. He managed to shoehorn a 7.7 litre Chevy engine into it. It did about 8MPG and I think he was quite relieved when he wrote it off.

That Jensen would be sweet to have today. Those old Fords handled like a wardrobe on corners but they looked great if you washed and waxed them and they did need much more maintenance than a modern car. You needed a set of wind deflectors, "GL" rims with chrome bands and an ashtray on a sucker on the drivers window. If you were really trying to impress you had a Sharp radio cassette the one with APSS that would fast forward to the end of a song you didn't like. At least 4 magic trees were obligatory and a small selection of parts and tools in the boot. I always liked that BRG paint not many modern cars have it

Hi Johndoh, Had a lot of fun with cars when I was in the RAF. They had a motor club with all the tools you could imagine. Ran all sorts of vehicles including a jaguar XJS. We regularly got to play with very sophisticated military stuff, most of it still covered by the official sectrets act. Research and development for the military is probably the best job in the world, there is a slight chance of getting killed, but any fool can do that crossing the road.

One of my best memories was dropping a brand new Scorpion armoured vehicle out of the back of a Hercules aircraft at 1,200 feet. Parachutes failed to deploy, we got to watch several million pounds worth of hardware make a hell of hole in Salisbury plain. The ground recovery crew didn`t bother digging it up, they just filled in the hole.

I guess it`s no wonder taxes are so high when you realise that some idiot put a moron like me in charge of expensive stuff like that.

Thats very cool Bob. I applied to join the RAF at 16 they turned me down because I have poor eyesight they said, but I think me saying I wanted to bomb people was the real reason!

Back in the day there were only two options If you wanted to bomb people. Joint the military or join the IRA. Whichever you joined you got to spend time trying to kill the other. What a f*cked up world.

Strangely enough, the military like to recruit well balanced individuals and then train them to kill, rather than recruiting people who want to kill and showing them how. Same result either way, highly skilled killers with PTSD.

I did read one report from a recruitment sergeant which said: "I do not recommend recruiting this individual as it would be a shame to deprive his village of its idiot".

Bob, remember those really cool ads for the RAF in the mid 70's especially the ones showing the Harrier? That's what made me want to join, I wanted to fix them rather than fly them I don't have much of a head for heights and I hate flying. There's a history of service in the family all army, I didn't fancy all that walking and marching! Paul
Title: Re: My God! Can't old posts go away!

Hey Johndoh/Paul, Yes I remember them, the Harrier jump jet was probably the finest flying machine ever made. I built the shipping/lifting equipment to get them to the Falklands during that unfortunate conflict. Seven Harriers where winched into the hold of the Atlantic Conveyor, on deck were several Chinook helicopters to be used to lift the Harriers onto the deck, where they could be deployed in offensive/defensive roles. Sadly the Argentinian Air Force targeted the Atlantic Conveyor with French built Excocet missiles and it sank with enormous loss of life and the loss of the Harriers. I should have been on that ship but thankfully was given orders to design, build and deploy a system for delivering and picking up the mail for the troops on the ground.

War is a sick and F*cked up activity and I am very glad that you have never had to participate in it. I watched the body bags containing my friends and co-workers  being unloaded at RAF Brize Norton. I saw the injured returning and being ambulanced to the military hospital at RAF Wroughton.

I have the very greatest of respect for those who have served their countries in times of conflict, regardless of which side they were fighting on,  I thank you for the service of your relatives and I am very glad that you don`t have to carry the emotional and physical scars that war leaves on people. War is what happens when politicians fail.

If you want a hero, check out Simon Weston who saved so many of his crew mates at enormous cost to himself. Ten years of plastic surgery to replace the flesh that burned off him when the Sheffield got struck by Exocet missiles. He is now a happily married man with children, God bless him and his family and all those who have had to do the dirty work of corrupt, inept and callous politicians.

I know of Simon Weston and I agree he's a hero and a nice guy as well, very articulate he doesn't be on TV as much any more. I had a great uncle enlisted in 1915 he died in the disaster that was in the Dardanelles at Suvla Bay. I had an uncle who was in WW2 he didn't talk about it much but he wouldn't buy use or touch anything Japanese and he detested the Japanese people. I filled in some of the blanks as I got older. I had another great uncle who was at the Somme, catering corp. He said he did as much harm to the British as the Kaiser and he claimed he only fired one shot after training, shot a crow! It's hard to know what was true he was a teller of tales again seldom mentioned the war in detail. Uncle Stuart was at Normandy but he wasn't able to cope with whatever he seen, spent the rest of his life drunk and afraid.

This thread is a little sad now time to get back into the Cortina with its straight line speed and cheap petrol!

Hey Paul. Yes a lot of veterans won`t talk about what they have seen and had to do to survive. A lot of them turn to drink and drugs to dull the internal pain. My Father was in the artillery and was evacuated from Dunkirk. He was then sent out to fight Rommel in North Africa. He fought his way up through Italy and eventually ended up in Berlin.

I doubt that there is a family in Britain or Germany that has not lost good men and women in both of the world wars.

He wouldn`t talk about his experiences and came back to the UK where he studied medicine and devoted the rest of his life to sustaining like rather than trying to take it.

Hat off to him and all of his generation, for fighting for the freedoms we now take for granted.

I believe that it should be part of the school curriculum to go and visit the war cemeteries in France and Germany. I have visited some, I have also been to some of the concentration camps in Poland and Austria. When you stand in the middle of an immaculately maintained graveyard and all you can see is headstones for as far as you can see in every direction, it focuses the mind on peaceful activities.

Strangely enough, my experience of the concentration camps is even weirder. The birds don`t or won`t sing. It is a truly sobering experience being in a place where such atrocities have occurred and realising that even the wildlife respect it.

Bob.

Down here at the peaceful bottom of the world we haven't sent men off to conflicts - apart from specialists to the Middle east and a few other such things - in significant numbers since Korea

I have a photo on my will circa maybe 1941 where my dad in his army uniform is about to sail for Africa, his brother in his uniform is in training and would sail to the Pacific Theatre next year, and his other brother, in civvies, is about to be shipped off to a conscientious objectors camp for the rest of the war.  His wife, pregnant with their third child, and with two small children, was treated as a pariah by the short-sighted, narrow-minded folks of those days, was vilified by the women of her neighbourhood, and she and tjheir children would have starved or frozen to death in an Otago winter if not for the kindness of family and friends

Those were not enlightened times

I often reflect, gratefully, on the fact that, at age 61, I am part of a cohort that represents the first generation - in our country - ever to grow up, grow old and die without being sent overseas to fight in some pointless war

I guess that's progress

People that don't want to kill other people.  Sounds so simple and righteous.  Their treatment is one of those posts that went away almost before it was written down.  That's one of the ways the "good old days" remain as The Good Old Days.

I've had a couple of crap years and my year in Korea, all expenses paid, was the worst one.  The stuff we get ourselves into because we're hungry and / or broke can be regrettable.  I'm alive so it didn't kill me but a few parts just didn't make it.  The ones that kind of break or snap off while watching an almost occupying force treat local populations as if something were wrong or nasty about them and telling themselves that they're doing a great job for humanity.

You can call them back if you're talking to yourself.  It's sort of like fantasies - "Whew, thank God that was a fantasy!"

More often than not  I see a topic on a forum and type a super long detailed response. before I hit submit and get sidetracked and have to go do something. by the time I get back to the computer I start thinking about all the people who are going to disagree with what I said and be negative and I just delete the whole thing before I even post it. sort of like I am talking to myself. It feels like I get it all out of my system by typing the response and have not the  inclination to actually post it. lol. I am fighting the urge to delete this right now as a matter of fact......

On a few of the forums I have joined this thread would have been deemed "off topic" long ago and been locked. Not all forums are for open discussion and exchange of ideas, some are priggish mutual appreciation societies for what the members and mods perceive as an elite knowledgeable insider group. Stick to the topic and if you have an opinion keep it to yourself! I best not name them but surprisingly to me they are in the UK and are about such exotic interests as snooker and French cars!

Hi Fellas, People should be allowed and even encouraged to say or post what they really believe. I am sick ant tired of political correctness. It allows politicians and other high profile people to avoid dealing with difficult issues like racism, same sex marriage, child abuse and sexual exploitation. None of them have the b*lls to say anything that might be misconstrued as evidence of some sort of "ism" They therefore say nothing meaningful at all. I guess I just fell into their trap by mentioning the word b*lls. In the politically correct world that is classed as sexism as half the population don`t have any.

Speak/post your mind and to hell with the idiots and intellectually castrated.

Rant over, feeling much better thanks,

Bob

Cant you name some of those forums glort? Might be a good read. If one is an AU site of the alternative energy type, then that wouldnt surprise me at all. We all might have to go back to school to be educated in the wonderful world of political correctness and green ideology. You should know a diesel cannot be allowed anywhere near a solar panel.

Hi basewindow, what a bloody good idea, if we all signed up as members of these BS forums we might get the true word out there. We could also have fun seeing who was first to get banned. Perhaps we should run a competition to see how many politically correct forums we can get banned from in a week. The prize for the winner would have to be a golden Glort.

I have also left some forums that are way too far "green" for my liking, particularly wood burning forums where my ghastly outdoor wood boiler is claimed to be choking the entire plant with  soot and is directly responsible for a 10 foot  rise in the world's ocean levels and  several cases of COPD that were 3 states away. ;D

That being said we have two distinctly different subjects being discussed here, maybe three and that is beside the original topic for this thread. For my own personal tastes this is why I like to see both the individual  forums and threads kept on topic.  It makes for garbled reading unless a person happens to be here every day and reads every post which I (and many others) do neither,,, believe it or not? ;D

BUT since I have already been in here adding to the mire of this thread I will add that  I still resist ANY notion that I  have  a right to post what ever I  please here or anywhere else in cyberland.  If Ade says ENOUGH!! then he is right.  I am a guest in his house , and he is king.

Didnt I say I was dome posting on this thread a page or two back?? ;)

People are like this thread. They digress, they go off on a tangent they have opinions ideas etc they want to share with other people. I suppose totally anal retentive types might enjoy a binary Q&A for any issue they might encounter but thats too robotic for me. Nothing better than a good discussion started on the 3rd pint of ale and carried on until closing time or until the wives step in.

If you start off with something like "did you see Dave recently"? A yes or no ends the conversation whereas if you reply "saw him yesterday thumb wrapped up in bandages and insulation tape"

Must have been drunk, again
No he's getting on a bit, bad eyesight

What ever happened to democracy, majority rule and all that? Now we appear to have minority rule, the smaller the minority the better from the point of being able to claim some sort of discrimination and the well deserved compensation associated with it.

I think I will declare myself a Klingon male, that should entitle me to be brutish, rude, drunken and violent without fear of prosecution. Anyone who doesn`t respect me will then be in breach of my alien rights as laid down by the Galactic Federation!

Typical juvenile behavior, get drunk, mouth off and then fail to understand why some people find your behavior unacceptable.

One day he will do it, face to face, to someone with a very short fuse and learn his lesson. People who behave like that should be forced to join a team, where they will quickly learn that honesty, trust, cooperation and politeness pay dividends.

I'm a middle aged man and I love getting drunk. Off to the shed bottle of Jim Beam and my old Collie. We end up listening to country music and staggering over to look for a screw I misplaced 7 years ago, getting drunk can be good. Nobody to irritate in the shed and Sally is pretty much immune to insults

I live 10 miles from a decent pub and 5 miles from an awful one. Alcohol limit for driving in Ireland is pretty low, so it's taxis that are expensive for transport and a fiver for a shot, €200 goes nowhere. The wife doesn't drink much and never at home and she hates all the music I like (she probably hates me too but is too polite to say so). Bourbon, country music and dogs are almost a package deal they go so well together. The acoustics are terrible in the shed but I don't think me suggesting a sound upgrade for the shed would go down too well.  Of course the whiskey makes my blood sugars crazy and makes me feel unusual the next day but life is for living not existing to gain some extra time. I often thought that if life ever became unbearable out to the shed duct tape the cracks and gaps and start everything with an engine. Crack open a bottle of Makers Mark bit of Alan Jackson on the wireless and just drift away!

I can't stand beer, tried that again the other night and it still tastes like cats piss to me.

In fairness, that's because most Australian beer does indeed taste like cat piss. (not that I know what cat piss tastes like, precisely, but I know what it smells like... and taste is mostly about smell).

You might find some proper British draught beers more palatable; but I couldn't guarantee it.

As for the OP: He's not banned, I offered to ban him if he wanted, or if he cared to explain WTF he was on about, but since he's barely been back since, I don't see the point. Obviously if he keeps coming back & mouthing off, then he'll join one of the select crew who are banned. There's very few of them.

The only thing I can think, is that he's the latest incarnation of Spencer - who, IIRC, was given a multitude of chances to stop posting bullshit, but in the end got banned because he was just causing bad feeling with everyone else.

I like IPAs in moderation. I like hops but some of them here in the States are just too hoppy, almost a vomit smell to them. I tend to stick to pilsner and lager with an occasional thirst for hefeweizen.

I agree on the Aussie beer being akin to cat piss though. I used to drink Fosters on occasion, not terrible but not good either.

Irish Stout on the other hand, that is a tasty beverage. Nothing like a black and tan after a long day.

Will you bug*ers please stop talking about British beer and pubs. I now live in Australia and like Ade says the beer is like cats piss.
The Newport Arm in Sydney used to sell Old Speckled Hen but it was ice cold and carbonated, almost as bad as the local sh1t.

I did find the Four Pines in Manly had a master brewer called Andrew Tweedle. He brewed on site and made proper traditional ales, sadly i believe he is now brewing in Hawaii. I hope the Pines have maintained his brewing excellence.

I only drink red wine now, something Australia makes very well.

Pudding wines made in France are called Sauternes and are delicious and very expensive. There are a lot of convents and monasteries that have been making wines and spirits, for there own consumption, for generations. Probably explains why they spend so much of the day on their knees, too pissed to stand up.

It has to be ale! Have you considered making a brew yourself? It's not too difficult to make just difficult to make well. I have made stout (Guinness ) in the past it's too heavy after 2 pints you kinda have had enough.
Remember years ago you used to get cider with bits suspended in it? rocket fuel. Any cider I tried recently tasted like industrial alcohol and chemicals flavourings etc I'd say it was never near an apple in any part of the production process. Years ago we used to be able to get Poitin (moonshine) it was honey flavoured and would start a Honda 50 with a warm engine. The stuff for sale now is made industrially and can make you blind.

Great family story, Glort. Most enjoyable. I haven't seen any of my family for over 20 years, some 30.  All alive except my Dad who got a horror show sendoff via rapidly progressing ALS 2 years ago.  I did bribe one nephew to come by for a day last summer.  He was visiting a college classmate in Denver and ran low on cash for pot, so was  influenced to drive over to see a little bit of northern AZ. It was nice to have the illusion of a family if only for a day.

Thanks for sharing such happy memories, used to love the Newport Arms. The barman Bobby Willets, a man with an enormous mustachio, was a family friend. He retired a long time ago and now drives a bus ferrying the old and disabled to various functions.

Sorry to hear you have all lost so many of your family and friends, reminds me of the song by Willy Nelson "I don`t want to be the last man standing, but then again maybe I do"

...... I was part of a clinical test once, well twice actually, and have a very high and rare tolerance to booze. Just don't work on me pretty much.  I was tested twice because they thought they Screwed the results of the first tests up. Second lot came back marginally better. They suggested it was my metabolism but if it was that, I wouldn't have a fat gut on me when I don't drink very much. They did ask how I went with pain Killers and the fact they don't work so well on me nor does anesthetic seemed to add up to them.
I'd rather pain killers worked real well and I got drunk easily than the other way around. .....

It doesn't pay to be a medical anomaly.   I have almost the opposite problem.
Anesthetic, pain killers, CBD oil, does nothing for me.  Woke up in the OR once, they'd run out of juice, and sent a crew down to the pharmacy for more - stat!
But 2 or 3 glasses of wine will do me fine for a couple hours, better than all the morphine and tramadol that I have leftover.  Had a couple stout surgeries: prostate, kidney stones, shoulder replacement, and none of the medical stuff works as well as a bottle of sangria .

I got a bottle of Buffalo Trace for my birthday very smooth. Usually I drink Jim Beam for guzzling and Markers Mark or Woodford reserve for sipping. I have tried most that are sold in Ireland from Four Roses to Rebel Yell to Bulleit as well as the supermarket own brands. If you go into a pub here and just ask for bourbon you'll probably get Jack Daniels (not for me)

Bourbon prices are going to rocket here thanks to the weird haired one 30% tariff will make it very occasional indeed!

I can't believe what I started.  I had to chuckle this evening when I came to this site for the first time in a good while.  My initial post was made because every time I have looked to open this site over a fairly long period of time I type in Lister Engine Forum and the first thing that pops up is "HELP I'VE BEEN BANNED FROM THE LISTER ENGINE FORUM!)  Dated 2008.  That is what started this thread.  I would hate to think what would happen if I gulped a bottle of tequila and did a couple of bong hits before posting.  Seriously though, My Listeroid, that I have had for about 10 years and use for backup power is about to go to pasture and a Changfa I have had for some time is going in.  I truly enjoy the engines and will check in from time to time to find out any new tricks.  I guess my mistake was  calling the pleading of the desperate soul a post.  Cheers.  PS-- I have re-read as counseled, multiple times I hope it is as innocuous  as it is meant to be.
As I see the price at the pumps creeping up I am guessing that interest in these engines will once again peak.

To tell you straight, I think your little sook on the microgen forum was pissweak.  You'd already admitted you did the wrong thing then went on to blame others for the problems you caused yourself.  That's pathetic in my book and you owe Ade in particularly an apology. Frankly, you sound like a self centred whinger to me who want to put the blame on others for the problems YOU bring upon yourself.

There, now you do have reason to say you were attacked. Make sure when you have a cry about it to anyone else you tell them the WHOLE reason why and not just your own one sided view. Oh, and make sure you credit the RIGHT person for " attacking " you this time Cupcake.

If you were banned, you must be now posting under another account.
What was your account username previously? I'm sure that would be very insightful.

I'm not sure of this forums Finer rules but most forums I have been on say if you are banned you are not permitted to join under a different user name. That makes me wonder if you should be here at all but let us know who you were previously so we can see what might have caused the problem.

Just ask the guy that near took out the front of my car this morning when he did a lane change without looking and then really proved he was just stupid rather than made a mistake by stopping his and getting out his car to engage in discourse with me on the matter.  Fortunately my articulated communication with my displeasure of his actions and the possible and highly probably outcomes if he did not resume speedy progress of his vehicle along the carriageway, soon had the blockage of the traffic flow corrected promptly.

I think it is time for some to consider just what benefit is to this site or the engine community for us to keep  this  post up top front and center  by continually adding to it??? (such as I am doing right now and is absolutely my last post on this absurd thread)
The very first thing a person sees who comes to this site looking for Listeroid engine information is page after page of off topic rants and  B.S.      Mr moderator  may we get at least get a lock  on this post so it can fall off the bottom of page 1  or send it to the off topic forum or something? Not for my personal benefit, but for the good of the site?
