Title: Stamford clone update

Today I drilled and slotted the generator slide.
Mounted and aligned the pulley.
Did a few test starts to check rpms and belt track.

Looks like she will be turning just over 700 rpms with the
belt/pulley set up I currently have.

After spinning that monster up 5 or 6 times I am worn out.

Stay tuned, I will get the power side up and running next week end.
I can, at that time, get some voltage and load test numbers.

Installed the second belt and did a trial run.

I don't have any numbers to report but will say the head seems
to be pretty stable. I ran a 5 kw load about 2 hours. It was started
and stopped several times to allow me to run balanced and
unbalanced loads and saw little to no drift in voltage or hz.
No noise that I could hear at those loads was a relief after that
garbage ST head.

I believe another spring and setup will be needed on the fuel system
because once the load goes over 5kw the engine is starting to strain.
At that point hz starts to fall off.

The Indian fuel system has to go. The junk leaks from every joint except the
fuel filter. A new tank with mounts, fuel hose and fittings are in the works.

Very glad your Stamford clone is functioning well  per Gary's recommendation!  I wish Stamford had a lower power model suitable for a 6/1!

We fit the larger sizes on smaller engines from time to time... no big deal. I consider it lots of room for overload safety!

I'd love to hear about the quality of power it produces. As many of us have struggled with the ST heads and various alterations in an attempt at improving power quality. My 20/2 produces quite a bit of flicker, some of which clearly is caused by the engine's power pulses. But the sine wave is not clean and motors groan on it.
