Hi all. I have a 4.5kw generator [genuine Lister] Only the gen ,no 8/1 sadly.
It moves freely by hand, has been drystored for many years and has the box of stuff that fits on top.
I want to sell it and I have little idea what it's worth.
Any ideas what's a fair price?

So whats it worth in US?
It depends on the condition. Do you know if everything still works, is it complete? I paid £250 for a 4KW head and imported it to the US. Mine is a North American spec(60 hz) head that has the start winding but no start-o-matic panel. I would think that one in good condition would probably be worth at least $500 here in the US. The only issue is freight. It is probably a couple of hundred $ to get it shipped here. Is the box you are describing the start-o-matic panel or the transformer, resistor, etc that mounts to the top of the gen head? I have no idea of the market in the UK, seems you guys have things like this readily available unlike here in the US.
Do you have a picture of the setup?

Untested, you are unlikely to get much. No telling why it came out of service.
