Hi I wondered if anyone from the forum might be interested in a pair of Matched Lister Blackstone 70KVA reconditioned generators which were installed on my boat and other than testing have never been ran.
Their numbers are
1228JW6MA83NA
GEN NO 22795/2
1229W6MA83NA
GEN NO 22795/1
My boat is static so are not required and its a shame they are not put to use as they would be a great set for someone requiring replacements.
I am currently on the slipway at Carmet Marine in Bromborough Wirral with engineers on site to remove if a sale was agreed. Moored in Salford Quays in Manchester following this.
Looking for £10,000.00 for the pair
Many thanks
Paul

Coool, just up the road from me too ;D Unfortunately, I just don't have the spare cash... or the room frankly... or the need.... :(
That must be a hell of a tub you've got, any pics of it?

Hi Ade,
I think they would look great in your front garden or either side of the front door and the neighbours wouldn't mind the noise.
She certainly is not on the small side! pic attached
Thanks for getting in touch.

Hi Astill
Nice looking boat.
What's her story and what is the main propulsion? should it not be a rude question!
Cheers Stef

Hi Stef,
She's called Jacamar and was originally built as a fishing boat. The guy I bought her from took the entire top off the boat and fitted a new classic yacht style top. The engine is still on her and is a 660hp 8 cylinder Lister Blackstone with Napier turbo. The engine room has never been connected to the wheelhouse and its beyond my means to throw the kind of money it would require to do this and I would rather re-invest any money I generated from selling the generators etc back into her interior and making he special.
Many thanks for your interest.

Hi Paul,
I have a massive case of boat envy now!
I've always fancied a big motor boat, and something like that - a converted fishing boat, or even bigger - was always my dream. Either that, or an ex patrol boat - the type that will do 35+ knots :D
Right... I need to go buy a lottery ticket!
Cheers,
Ade.
PS: Have you considered advertising them on Apollo Duck?

Thanks for that Paul,
Very interesting, definitely the heavier end of Lister Land!
'Round about 2002 I worked for the bloke that bought HMS Beagle, the last of the RN hydrographic ships that were painted white (they ended there careers in grey, with a number on the side so it looked like we had more war canoes!)

After the conversion she became MY Titan and is still working the Med
https://www.yachtcharterfleet.com/luxury-charter-yacht-22994/titan-photos.htm#yacht-tabs
Anyway, she had four 8 cylinder Lister Blackstones running into two twin input gearboxes as main propulsion and four 4 cylinder L B's as genny's. We pulled the genny's, two went for scrap and two were shipped to New Zealand where the ex HMS Bulldog was undergoing a similar conversion.
I would have thought that there's a market for your motors, if not as genny's, there's still a lot of ex fleet tenders and tugs running the fours. There used to be a chap out Norfolk way who reconditioned them, maybe he could help you place them. If you can't shift them let me know and I'll ask my mate, Westy, who was the Chief on the job, if he can come up with a lead.
Cheers Stef

Hi Stef,
Thanks for that, any help with finding someone interested would be great. Its a shame they are not being put to good use. Thats one hell of a conversion on the MY Titan, I think Jacamar will be on a 1000th of the budget but I am hoping will still do her justice.
Cheers

I don't know what the final bill was but £7 million wouldn't be a bad guess.
I'll try and capture Westy tomorrow!

Hi Paul
The company is DF Coulam and Sons
http://www.dfcspares.com
Westy has some Napier turbo spares, he's not sure what but probably enough for 4 rebuilds, should you want some kit for the main engine. I believe it's kit he picked up from his time trawling MOD disposal sales.

What a cool boat. Paul, you have to get the steering hooked up so you can get her moving and enjoy it. What an amazing project!
Those gensets are a great deal for someone on that side of the pond!
Kind regards,
Steve
