I've bought a complete single cylinder Chinese manufacture diesel engine. I've been unable to find any info on this engine, even though I have the complete dataplate. Can anyone tell me what this is and where I might find a parts list, etc? Thanks, Kyle

Your data plate states model 190A, 12 hp. Google 190A diesel engine and information does show up for the 190A. Its used on generators, welders, mixers and many other items.
Parts - check in the chinese engine parts section on this and the www.microcogen.info forums.

Since apparently my google-fu is not as strong as yours, could you provide a link with a pic of a vertical piston 190a engine? All the ones I found are new style horizontal engines and are not the same as mine. Thanks, Kyle

Ok, about to give up on this thing. Anyone have a source for Chinese diesel parts? I've not been able to get an email response from any of the places listed on Alibaba or ECW. Mainly looking for a manual and some gaskets.
-
kbud,
Unless you speak Chinese you probably won't get a response. ??? I've had the same problems in the past. Try an online translator and then cut and paste the translation.

I 2nd this idea.
I use Google translate in conversations with people selling Andoria diesel on allegro.pl. It apparently translates well enough for the other side to understand. I include the english version in the e-mail, in case they have an english speaker/reader on their end.

Alright! The translator thing worked, I've got a complete manual for the 190A engine used on the LGN-12K tractor. However, it does not mention/show any info on the electrothermic plug that mine uses. I contacted Hardy Diesel, they have a replacement, but absolutely no information on it. I'm now trying to figure out how it's supposed to work. The plug is hollow and has a small tank hooked to it. The line on mine is broken from the tank to plug. The main problem is that it's a hard line with a flared fitting at the plug.

Anyone know of any other engines that use this type setup? Thanks again, Kyle

Hello kbud,
That thermostart plug looks remarkably like the ones used on many Perkins diesels and some others. Try a Massey Ferguson dealer, as most of their earlier tractors were Perkins powered with this type of cold start setup. My old 4-270 ,my 4-236 and 6-354 all had these on them. Never needed to use them in our climate, Combustor.

Did yours have the little tank? I'm assuming you put fuel into it and then when the plug is activated, it heats the air and fuel for easier starting. And thanks for the heads up on the Massey dealer.

Hello kbud,
Sorry I am a bit slow. Haven't looked here for a day or 2. The Perkins setup as I recall has the small tank in line with the fuel return flow from the top filter, so it is always fulll. The thermo-start opens when heated and vaporises the fuel .Regards, Combustor.

No problem on your timing. Any response is appreciated. Anyway, using the engines you listed, I was able to download some manuals that show how it's used. I'm getting ready to purchase a thermostart heater I've found on ebay that looks just like mine. I'll then rig up a tank setup, most of the tractor setups connect to the low pressure side of the fuel pump that I've found.
Thanks again, everyone for all the help.

Cool engine!
Hope you get it running...
Stick with it.
Best regards,
Steve

Well, got it running this past weekend. It does not run as smoothly as I think it should. It has a pretty bad vibration coming up to speed that does not go away. I pulled the generator off it, pulled the injector, rotated by hand and can't find anything wrong. I'm going to try to pull the flywheel off this weekend and check behind it for problems. Anyone have any idea how smooth one of these should run? I have ordered a photo tachometer to make sure I'm not overspeeding it. Thanks, Kyle

I have just picked up a chinese diesel generator, fortunately it came with the owners manual and the tool box.
Was there any information that you were still needing that I could scan for you?
